Hey, wow, so, it's been a while.
I installed RMXP again and it's doing this with the background on materials:
It doesn't affect the functionality but it's distracting and obnoxious.
It changes to a random color when I make a new project, but only temporarily. It always ends up back at purple eventually so I can't even cheese it by making new projects to try to roll the default color.
Tried running as admin, in XP compatability mode, reinstalling in a new location outside of Program Files, all to no effect. The "transparent color" setting in the options only changes the color of the border region of the map view; it has no effect on any of the material displays.
Found a thread on another forum where someone had the same problem(theirs was red instead of purple) but didn't see any solutions posted.
What do I do
Edit -
Found a download for the v1.04 trial and installed+activated through that and the problem is gone so I guess EB broke something in 1.05? I'm gonna try to locate a changelog and see if there's any important changes or fixes I'd be missing I guess
Edit 2 -
Figured out exactly what's going on - 1.05's transparent color setting is being applied to the map view's background instead of the material background. gg Enterbrain
