Eclairise OST

Hello! And welcome to my music shop! Here I display a variety of deep fantasy music melodies for use in projects.

With my music you can:

Use in your games, just give me credit for the music and if it's a commercial project, please contact me becuase I deserve a cut.

Listen to them as you like.

Modify only the bitrate or file size.

With my music you cannot:

Post them on any sites without my permission. Including forums, spaces, and anywhere else that allows uploading.

You cannot call the music your own.

You cannot make CD's of the music unless they're for listening to for personal use.

Thanks for stopping by! And please enjoy my music. I also would like critisism if you like them or think they can be better.

Thanks, the ones I put as new are the newly recent ones, so... the other ones are older. Meaning this is how my style has progressed so far. ^^ I'm fairly new to music making.

i have a few tips for you, constructive criticism if you will.

1. get a new file host, that one is sloooooow

2. you need to go back and remaster your tracks, they peak and crackle, im not sure what program youre using, but with what i use (FLstudio) you can add an equalizer and adjust you lows, mids, highs etc. it seems to me that your mid range frequencies are too loud thus making the songs crackle when any louder low or high freq sounds play.

3. as far as the actual music goes, the writing portion. youre off to a good start, but i would look into learning some scales (major, minor, phygrian, dorian, diminished etc) and 3rds.
3rds, if you dont know, are basicly every other white key on a keyboard. if you start at the first key in an octave, a simple scale for that octave would be 1 >3 >5 >7, moving up to the next octave 2 >4 >6 >next octave. this will keep your songs in key and make them sound less dark or creepy, and you can pull off some epic sounding songs, happy songs etc

wow thanks! um can you suggest a host? becuase the one I used last time supload.com I think some one reported 2 of my songs as copyright infringement becuase it won't let me search and those 2 songs are no longer available... And for the music thats crackly, since I'm using the free version of Fl studio it won't let me save projects so I can't reopen the project however I can open the mp3 in it possibly to fix this. And I saw this equalizer once but I can't find it again... can you tell me how to get to it please? I will update this post as soon as I make more songs. The octave tip is great advice.

EDIT:

I have a question: I found a site (www.pianoworld.com) that shows all the root chord and scales on the keyboard range I'm guessing. But what exactley are the chords and scales for? I know what root is though. Is the scales and chords like you only use those notes for a certain theme of the song you want to make? how do you tell which scale or chord you want?

Oh so youre using FL studio, good good, ive been using that program for a looong time.

EQ is in the FX channel, last button up top right, brings up the effects master window, shows channels left to right, select master, click the little down arrow box to the left to bring up the list, default is just a 7 band EQ, theres presets and stuff, i used bass drum punch and snare enhance for drums instruments and stuff for example, but what you wanna do is use the default 7 band, drop what seems like from the songs i listened to the middle 3 or so down a little bit, just play around.

as far as scales and stuff, no need for any internet searching, FL studio has reference scales (at least in 3.56, oldschool version i know) OK, on the left side menu where your instruments ans such are, theres a section called "scores" inside scores is "reference scales" just drag them into a piano roll, i asume you know how to open a piano roll (if not, main pattern editor, right click on instrument, piano roll) and it shows you the notes for whichever scale you dragged in.

and as far as upload sites for music with streaming samples etc, ill have to get back to you, i found a good one once but i cant for the life of me remember what it was

i do my animated battlers from scratch, cept of course frame 1 of the one in my avatar is clearly a remake of that white-ish haired guy with the red sword and the blue tabbard looking thing, but my woozy and block poses for that battler(which are original, and as far done as i am on that sprite) i just draw a rough outline to size it right and draw inside as i erase the outline. im not really a pixel by pixel kinda guy, i dont use a pallete, i use a flat color and shade/highlight with burn and dodge. i think it ends up making smoother fold in cloth and stuff, and makes things look more natural

Hello all! sorry I have not posted in a while...
I made 2 new songs (actually i made alot of new songs but these 2 are my best so far.) Dark battle and Hallow Forest. uploaded at box.net. Check them out and tell me what you think. ^^

I've updated the post and am only including the new tracks to the eclairise ost. which is a mmorpg im developing. and anew song has been added. theme_03. check it out.

no one is replying? is my music not good? please tell me i must know! thanks ^^

*sigh...* been awhile. sitll no one comments. I take it that the music isn't all that great. I started to wonder at this point if I could make any decent sounding music at all. So I did alittle test. I made a music kind of like making a midi from another game only in mp3 format. from acecombat 4, Emancipation. And it turned out pretty great in my oppinion... still I fear whenever I think I made something good no one seems to like it much. It's VERY VERY VERY HARD to make music like I am... I cannot think of how its going to sound then make it sound like that becuase I forget what it sounds like... so I just start putting in random notes until it sounds decent... is this how everyone else does it with original songs?

by the way please listen(but not use) to this mp3 i just made of emancipation. its in my first post. I just want to see if this sounds any better then my previous work? maybe some one can give me afew tips about making music? I've been doing it like this for ahwile and it doesnt seem to get me very far... I must be in the wrong direction... thanks for your time ^^

Many good ideas in that thread. If you are interested in getting your music improved try posting more/reading abroad in the Music Forum. There arent that many people active but the ones active are extremely helpful.

Also, it wouldnt let me load the page. This might be cause my computer is balls, but every other upload site works. If you can put this on Zshare Id be glad to give you a helpful analysis.

Hey, ok, good start!  Look, you're on the right path and don't get worried if nobody responds, thats just how it is sometimes!  After listening to your songs, I can say you've got the start of your own creative style going!  The melodies are a little unmemorable though(don't worry, sometimes I have this problem too).  Like you said, just placing the notes randomly until it sounds good will get you something, but not always memorable.  Improv is good, if you can work it right(like moogle sprite here).  And here comes one of the most overused phrases ever:
Practice makes perfect!  (or at least it helps!)

Practice makes perfect!

100% true.

If you can get improvisation to work just right then you can make some amazing music. On the flip side of the coin, inexperienced musicians tend to neglect it and end up making a drastically ugly tune.

Get a melody going first then add everything else. Unless im doing improv, this is how I write every piece of music ever.
