E3 expo. How the hell do you get invited? o_O

It just hit me. There's like eight trillion people at E3 every year. But nobody I know seems to know how the heck you go about being allowed in. =l

Does anyone know this? It'd be cool to go at least once.

Or be a developer, or be friends with someone who is press or a developer.

It's all about who you know, really. I got a chance at developer passes one year through a co-worker, but I couldn't go.

E3 is still going, its just properly only for the Press now. It's because it was getting silly with the press having to wait hours to play agame they needed to report on and it all becoming disjointed. I think it will still produce a similar amount of new game information in the press though, you just can't go.

Sorry I should of checked my sources before posting that there was no more E3. But the E3 as you know it is dead. It is a much more intimate event now.

E3 has been split over a few locations now and most take place within hotels, gone are the days of the huge hall of gaming goodness... sigh.

They are trying to replace the old E3 with the E for Everyone Expo, which you don't need an invite for.

Getting and invite to the old E3 was easy, though. Just spend like $50 to register a business name, make a business card - boom, you work for a game making business. Worked for me, but I never got to go in the end.

Everyone did that :)

Haha that's what my cousin done last year, but hey you could easily book a room in that particular hotel and sneak in....

EDIT: They should have named E For All Expo.....wait for it......

It's actually quite easy to get into E3. About a 100 bucks or so you can register a business name that will qualify you as "small press." I don't know where you can order the license, one but a quick google search will show you all the information you need.

I recieved a pass to E3 because I went to comicon with a self published comic book and some group was giving them away because I qualified as an "Independent Developer."

It's a shame I'm in the military. My schedule ALWAYS conflicts with all the good expositions.
