Help for the Demo
The descendant of Erdrick has rescued the Princess Gwaelin and defeated the Dragonlord. Together, with his new Queen, the hero sets sail from Alefgard with the Knights of Erdrick, King Lorik's elite army, to settle the foreign lands of Torland. In time, they would produce three children to rule from the lands Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke. But that time is not today.
The unknown lands are already ruled by sovereign nations in their own right. Without a common enemy, a monster to fight, would they turn their swords upon each other? If so, who would emerge victorious? History tells us that the man from Alefgard settled the unknown lands. But history does not always repeat itself...
In Dragon Warrior Tactics you will have the opportunity to rewrite history. Will you march the armies of Lorik across the plains of Torland to claim new land for your King and Country or will you take up the cause of besieged defenders driving the foreigners from their home? Can the people of Torland unite for common good or will they fight among themselves? The future of the land is yours!
The world in Dragon Warrior Tactics is divided into several continents:
Alefgard is a continent in the Northwest hemisphere. Alefgard has several cities but the primary military power in the region is seated in Tantegel Castle. There, King Lorik rules the neighboring towns and city states with his Knights of Erdrick. Cities and towns in the region include Tantegel's neighbor, Brecconary, Garinham, the walled city Cantlin, the island town Rimuldar, Kol, and the decimated Hauksness. Alefgard also encompasses the fortress castle of the defeated Dragonlord.
Torland, in the East, is the home of a several cities and castles. Some of the most notable countries in the lands of Torland are Midenhall, Cannock, and Moonbrooke. Torland also includes the towns of Leftwynne and Hamlin.
Rhone, in the South, is a great mountain region that is ruled by the nation of Hargon from the castle with the same name. In time, Hargon would house the next ruler of evil. But this has not yet come to pass. Will it still?
Other centers of activity include the outer colonies and island villages that encircle the globe. Here you will also find the oceanic nation of Osterfair as well as Beran, Lianport, and the fisher's of Zahan. Finally, there are also border cities between the various countries, including the town of Tuhn.
The Dragon Warrior Series takes place in the following order:
Dragon Warrior 3, 1, then 2. In Dragon Warrior 3, we see the rise of the man named Erdrick. In 1, his descendant saves the land of Alefgard from the Dragonlord and sets sail across the sea to settle Torland. In the 2nd installment, Torland has been settled and a new evil overlord is emerging from Hargon in Rhone.
Dragon Warrior Tactics takes place between the official games 1 and 2. The demo is just a brief excerpt taken almost directly from the beginning of Dragon Warrior 1. Most of the dialogue, graphics, and play is the same.
However, the full version of Dragon Warrior Tactics will be set as previously stated between 1 and 2 and will more closely resemble 3 as you will be able to have multiple party members, face multiple enemies, will hire party members, etc.
See the version comparison below.
The Hero: This is the playable character in the demo of the game. His coming has been foretold by the prophecies and legends. He is to rescue the Princess and defeat the Dragonlord. However, the mountains have crumbled blocking the passes to the surrounding areas. Your task will be to venture into the Erdrick's cave and retrieve the Tablet with Erdrick's words. By doing so, perhaps you can move one step closer to proving that you are indeed the chosen one.
The Priest/Pilgrim: One of the various characters you will be able to play in the full version. The pilgrim works as a Priest at the house of healing to provide spiritual services to the people including de-cursing them, detoxify their poisoned bodies, reviving the dead, and saving their progress on the Imperial Scrolls. But, will he live out his life in the small church or does he have a greater calling?
One of the extra modes that will be included in the full version of Dragon Warrior Tactics is the "Challenge Mode." In the challenge mode, you will be able to leave the current time period and play some of the pivotal battles that shaped the world today. If you play them well, you may even change the course of history.
Ever wonder how Lorik claimed the throne of Alefgard? What if the Dragonlord successfully defended Charlock? What would happen if Hauksness or Moonbrooke never fell?
Now is your chance to make it happen!
If you succeed, rescued fallen kingdoms may become playable kingdoms unlocking playable characters, classes, etc.
