Dr. Albright Expressions

Hi! I was working with Dr. Albright trying to create different expressions, but I'm having difficulty since his eyes are straight lines and he doesn't have a mouth... :blank: (I was able to draw a fantastic scarf, though.)

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas. I'd really appreciate any help as I'm blanking out.

A lot of the time the eyes alone can show a good amount of expression, take a good look at some anime, almost any cartoon really.
This is a fast (crappy) edit in paint, but you see what i mean, as for the mustache, you can try tilting it from side to side and see what happens, maybe a sharp puff of smoke for anger, or some .. curly looking smoke for a peaceful look.

Thanks! How would you go about to make a frown (like if he was disappointed)?

What comes to mind is having the mustache wilt somehow, and/or the hair.

I managed to make some sort of 'did you seriously just do that' expression. I think it's all in the placement of the mustache and the angle of it - If you animated it going down, it'd be like a sigh.

I worked on the happy face, which seemed the easiest. I think it looks pretty swell. :biggrin:

I think disappointed usually has a very subtle smile, as if they're nodding to themselves that they almost expected it to happen but are deeply ashamed that it did. Difficult to portray with a moustache though.
