So. Hi. You are probably wondering what happened to the forums and why some posts are missing. First off we apologize, again, for the downtime. One of the tables crashed causing the forums to go down. There was no malicious intent involved, it just clunked out, and the only person who knew how to fix it was out on vacation. So, what does this all mean:

• we lost some posts. Anything past the 19th of May is lost.
• Any changed to your profile past the 19th is also lost
• there were 4 days of downtime

This, stacked with the downtime earlier is probably creating some skepticism. The two events are unrelated and are just a series of unfortunate events happening around the same time. One involved the bills not being paid and another involved the server totally clunking out. It just happened at the same time and was a mere coincidence.

Again, we apologize for the downtime. I said this in the last announcement but this stuff just happens from time to time. If you have any questions/concerns please post them here or contact an administrator for more information.

I would also like to add that we do keep more frequent backups, but the last one got overwritten by a new one when the site was down. We're looking into better and more frequent backups and also making sure all the admins know where everything is. We didn't want to just restore from backup before we were absolutely sure we'd tried everything else, but unfortunately it didn't pan out, so we had to do it anyway and were still down for a long time. We're really sorry about this! It's not a trend; we just got unlucky a couple times in a row.

Speaking of Facebook, don't forget: we have a page there.

We were trying to keep ya'll updated there, but a couple of people had decided it'd be more fun to say silly things instead.

Anyway, JSYK, if the board ever experiences problems, we will note in on our FB page, and you can refer to it for info, even if you don't "like" us on it (and you want to keep your info anonymous). (Though TBH, looking at our "liked by" roster, I can't tell who's who unless they're staff who've already told me who they are & we're friended anyway :P)

ha, apparently i say silly things.
I had also set it so that i don't get notifications from small things like groups/pages like that of hbg's fb, there's also no edit settings as far as i see. Honestly i just randomly hang around irc when the site's down.
don't really care about friending peeps on fb unless it's one of those random whims.
