Don't Fear! (Battle Theme)

This is one of the nicest battle themes I've heard in awhile. I didn't wrtie it; all I've done is taken the MIDI file and remastered it into MP3 format. The MIDI file was found from this site:

http://fhouse.s17.xrea.com/midi/tkool.html

I tried to keep the filesize as small as possible while not sacrificing quality, and as far as I can tell it sounds okay. If you do decide to use this, please credit the original composer (site above), and it would be nice if you'd mention my name, but by no means do I require that. Anyway, enjoy!

EDIT: If you decide to use the Gunslinger Mix, please credit me as well. That's my remix, and is in no way affiliated with the original composer. Thanks.

Glad you both like it. =]

I see what you mean by it sounding similar to many others. Maybe that's why I like it so much. Who knows.

Alright, children.

I've played around with it a bit, and I have a new version of the song entirely redone. I call it the "Gunslinger Mix". Would anyone be interested? If so, I'll put it up as well.

Sounds intriguing. Make it so!

I like it. Unlike a lot of battle themes I've heard which dither around indecisively like someone tried to compose it on the spot, this theme knows where it's going, and does it well. I like how it reflects back on the main phrase now and then before going off into an equally effective new set of phrases. Whoever composed this gets a big thumbs-up in my books.

Alright, I'm putting it up in the first post.

Yeah, I totally agree with you about how well it's composed. On the Gunslinger Mix, I changed the percussion part quite a bit, making it more techno-pop sounding to fit the other changes I made. Enjoy!

ah, such a refreshing battle theme style. A good harmony and nice beat as well. Makes me want to compose like this one day.

Mainly because most composers tend to think too hard when it comes to a 'battle'. There are a bunch of emotions crammed in such a piece that it's difficult to say "OK, i'm going to use these chords, these instruments" and so and so. A battle theme are on of those kind of themes that have to be composed entirely from one's own feeling. :)

Glad everyone likes it. I like the style a lot.

Anyone taken a listen at the Gunslinger Mix? If so, tell me what it needs. I know it needs something, just can't find what.

I like both but the only problem I can see is with both of them and that's the delay that happens between the end and start of the song when being replayed in RMXP, it doesn't loop as smoothly as it could, it's not that bad but still noticeable.
However the songs themselves are awesome and I'm using them in a contest entry (the make a boss fight contest)

The break is actually not the song, but RMXP. It works fine some of the time. It just kinda depends on how many programs you have running and what type of computer you use.

For instance, there's no gap between loops in the trial version of RMVX, so I'm assuming that it's just RMXP.

So are you using both, or just one?

Oh, Leknaat if you were wondering the thing that's missing is basically the timpani and snare that were substituted for the toms, I believe. They don't blend in as effect as they do in the midi version. For example, the snare section in the midi gives it that "pace", you know? :)

Shizu, I see what you mean. It isn't quite so "forward-moving" without the snare, if that makes any sense. I'll play around with it some more and hopefully release a revised Gunslinger Mix soon.

Another other suggestions from you? I'll welcome any.
