Looking around this site all I'm seeing these days is hostility from basically everyone. Nobody seems to respect a lack of natural talent anymore. Overall this forum is an unpleasant place for me to be. I could name names but I'm sure that would just cause people to get bitchy, so I'll leave it at that.

Not really.  It's hard to describe.  It almost feels like the NFG posts are leaking out into the rest of the site.  A perfect example is project suck my dick.  It's definitely NFG material since pornographic material of any kind is supposed to be confined there, but it remains in Project Discussion.  The only reason I haven't moved it or locked it is because the people higher than me, the moderators, gmods, and admins, all support it.

It's not just that he posted it.  No, I'd expect something like that from him.  It's the mere fact that you support it and won't move it that bothers me.  He's violated quite a few rules, obviously, yet you encourage his bad behavior.  It's reflecting horribly on the staff.

Listen, I know he's an honorary member or whatever, but not only are you not enforcing your rules, you're actually defending his breaking them.

Aside from that, I've seen the staff get into random conversations in threads, usually in announcements and feedback.  And it's usually what could be considered NFG material.  I'm in no position to change anything, but, in my opinion, you're setting a horrible example.

I've seen the opposing argument, and "It's obvious what you're going to see!" doesn't change the rules. (For the record, the argument was "if it's actual original content and it's made apparent that it's NSFW, we allow it." Why do you think Keinaru's game is still going strong? However, I agree with you, Guardian, that I should shut up now.) But, I was merely trying to explain what I meant by the environment changing here.  I didn't mean to argue about that thread; I was using it as an example.  And I agree that we shouldn't continue this discussion in a farewell thread.  It was disrespectful of me to get off-topic, and I apologize, to EmuMaster and everyone.

While I can agree that the forums seem to have changed a bit, I don't think it's a bad thing.
I've been here for a while now, and while I'm not as active as many people, I've seen this forum grow up and become something better.

If you don't like what this place has become, then I don't think you ever were quite a fit. Things change.

Also, it's not that people don't respect the less talented members of the community. It's just that now many of the members and especially the staff have given up on trying to be nice and fake. If something isn't good, we'll tell you. It's not because we don't respect you, it's because we want you to be better.
