Does XP and VX run on Win7?

If so, how should I configure it? Or there is no need for such thing? Do I need to install some extra software on my machine?

As far as I know it shouldn't have any problems.

I've had no issues with VX and 7 so far. Just installed and went. Still a little slow to load a game file for me, but better then Vista was.

RMXP seems to run fine with XP Service Pack 3 enabled.

I have had no problems with RMXP on Windows 7 64-bit Professional.
I have heard that you may need to run RPGXP.exe as Administrator the first time. (It must anyway connect to the internet the first time)
