is it wrong to do re-colors/re-works of old ideas for spriting?
I have been working on my maps for some time now, and I don't like the common RTP where you can't seem to see behind mounds/hills on the map. I was drawn to the Adventures of Zelda: Link to the past, which seemingly broke ground in the idea of undulation and the ability to go from level to level up and down... I took some of those sprites and re created a mound using photoshop. Now this mound looks a LOT more natural than the sprite it effectively was inspired by, but I want to put it to you as a theory... is it wrong to do something like that, that someone else already broke out with?
