Ok I have been posting about issues with my PC not working for RMXP anymore. I either get a virus warning that is bogus or I get a "cannot copy file" message when I try to start a new game.

I just downloaded the rpg maker xp onto my roomies computer (who has never had the game before), selected to continue with trial and tried to open a new game. Not only did I get the virus warning AGAIN but I also could not start a new game! It told me "cannot copy file"! What the heck is going on? Is this a glitch in the program or what? Does enterbrain have a customer service number or email or anything? I looked for one myself but couldnt find it.

If it is possible can anyone else try to download it on a different computer to see if this is a problem with the program? It just stopped working for me one day even though I run it every few days for the past couple years.

I am getting increasingly frustrated with this. We both have AVG 7.5 Home Edition and I am not sure if thats the cause or not. But I know others who have AVG 7.5 Professional Edition and run it without a problem. There is no mention of this problem when I keyword search it on google.

Check the directory on where you have the new file set to go, and check the directory on where rpg maker wants it to go.  :thumb:  That should work for you im sure.

Can you elaborate a bit on that for me?

When I start a new game I tried to open it where the game wanted to. I didnt change the destination, and it still didnt work.

Make the directory in the same place on both. elaborate enough?
