Does anyone here like Buffy the Vampire slayer?

This is one of the best TV show I've ever seen. Highly recommended. It has everything: Action, comedy, romance, mystery. No, I am not being sarcastic. It's a really good show.

If you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer the Series, then you'll love Angel and Firefly [by extension you'll love Serenity the movie as well].

Because they were all written by Joss Whedon, thats why they are connected.  They all have the same style of writing and storytelling and the fact that Joss Whedon is amazing.

You're right.  It was better in the beginning and kind of got weird and stupid near the end.

OK, obviously you know more than me...Not that I haven't followed Whedon's work from the beginning or anything.

He is a much better comic book writer than TV. Regardless of how long you have followed his work, Buffy is not like Firefly at all.

It was up for a few Emmys you know.  The one where her mother had terminal cancer was  definitely considered for the awards... as well as other 'poignant' episodes.

They did a musical episode when it was the thing to do.

They even had an entire episode that had 'NO' dialog.  It was performed purely by physical actions and signs.  Communication between the characters had to be inventive:  Post-it notes, reactions, chalkboards...  some misinterpretations made excellent sight-gags.

Now I do admit that the 6th season was a bit... odd... and less structured as to who the final Villain was (gee... given who that was... maybe they intended that?), but the rest was well written.

Anyone realize that the 1st season's Final Vampire Boss was Neidermeyer from Animal House?

As far as Angel, I was a little disappointed by the 1st season.  But it needed to get its bearings.  Like many other shows that start off, they never truly know how where they are going with the story.  But... brother did it pick up later.

--Haven't seen LOST, but Dexter does look... rather interesting.
