DoBoi Character (wip)

I have been working on my character making for a little while now, you know trying to work on my color choices and clothing and such.. anyway i have been working on this one since yesterday and want to know what you guys think about it.

Still working on the first frame for this one, i wanted a similar look to the rtp character, I think the hood is too big though ^_^

Thanks king ^_^, no more replies then.. ah well i wanted some tips but i was mainly showing what i was working on at the moment anyway.

i dont like the template.

but one thing i would suggest for the second one (theif) is to make the darker bits around the eyes bigger... like more of a darker area around the eyes and also at the sides where the hood comes over, to make the face look like it's actually being covered. Also, add more of a shadow to the top of the arms so it looks like the clothing is actually thick.

I know the cape figure is supposed to be somewhat evilish, but it just looks cute! If those glowy red eyes were shaped like a heart, it'd be such an adorable little monster XD
I'd probably add a bit more cloth to the front of the face as it would conceal more features. As is, it almost seems like there's such a large opening for the face that you should be able to see most (if not all) features.

Not much to say for the other guy. His shirt has an interesting design.

I'd like to see a female character on this template. I hope you consider doing that next

Had that female warrior going but decided to remake the character, heart shaped eyes XD

This topic may go down before i reply with a completed character, but i will be working on these, especially the first character since that one is more along now, i'm also working on a small template that is bigger than tyke but smaller than tyke 2, i plan to have a contest of some sort (having to do with the DoBoi template maybe) and i will give this temp to the winner along with some examples and possibly a character created by me.

Forgot to add that i will actually work some more on that first frame for the hooded character before i keep working on the first, i at least want to have a good 1st frame complete before, and i will put that up soon as i improve it's look more :D

Since you quoted something I said, I imagine this was directed at me... I'm confused as I was replying to InvisibleDrifter and just simply making a general point that templates different from the RTP don't get used much because there aren't as many resources to go with them. It wasn't directed at you, so appologies if it seemed that way.

Okay here's a better look, i've lowered the hood and changed the face, i will still be working on it though , next i will shrink the hood a bit.

theres a little light bit down where the mouth would be that i believe needs colouring the darker colour

That and the face should be moved one pixel higher because it looks like he's looking down, but i got that fixed already

Here's a better version peeps, it was a bad idea to use that purple so i switched to this color i like better, i wont delete the others yet so you guys can see how its changed so far :D

come to think of it, i actually like it looking down... but the damn 'mouth' is still there!!!

Thanks Ciela , NexS, XD mouth is still there because imo it makes for a good evil look, can be easily taken off by anyone who does not like it though
