Discovering the Floating Continent

I posted the same topic over at Sakari-Infinity, but I figured I might as well post it here too. I just copied and pasted what was in the topic there essentially, if anyone who frequents both there and here was wondering.

So today I sat down at my computer, and I wanted to compose something really really epic. So I did, and this is what resulted:
Discovering the Floating Continent.

I'm actually really proud of this one. I had originally planned to write a boss theme, but then I realized that the progression was better suited for a dramatic event, and the strings were sort of "dreamy" sounding, so I figured I'd title it after something fairly surreal, such as flying by a huge bank of clouds and then seeing a continent floating on the other side. Anyway, tell me what you think of this.

And I'm aware that the end sounds really busy right before the cymbal crash happens. I envisioned some sort of airship journey when I was writing it, and at that point in the piece, I envisioned the airship inside a giant tornado or something like that.

Holy monkey! This is awesome!!
What's the string instrument there that plays throughout?
Perhaps not string, but it sounds like a string being plucked.
Nice use of cymbols.

Okay, when the cymbol goes and it gets quiet, there's a bit where the notes seem a bit clunky and awkward. Then about 10 seconds later that happened again.

Melodys are really lovely. I think that this is really well named as it really truly does feel like an epic and mysterious discovery.

Again, beautiful piece of music, but try to fix those clunky notes and I'd say it's perfect!

Thank you! And that would be a harp, if you're talking about what I think you are. I kinda see what you mean too about the clunkiness... I'm thinking some more use of dynamics possibly could help that, but maybe just rejiggering the structure of that part would work too.

I'm glad you like it though... I remember when I posted a piece of mine on here around a year ago it didn't get such a warm approval at all, and the fact that you're saying what you are means I must have improved. :)

EDIT: Whoah, two posts while I was writing!
@Blitzlance: Thanks... not the most informative comment, but it gets the point across. :)

@Crispychaney: I used a really old version of Midisoft Recording Session to write the music itself out in MIDI form, and then I imported it to Reason and added percussion and a few other touches. The sounds you hear are all Reason sounds.

Does Reason have a "Mastering" system? Because to fix that last part, all you'd have to do is master it by changing a few sound levels and maybe filtering it. Or... at least that's what it sounded like to me. I've never used the program myself.

Edit: Oh yeah, I liked how you did the panning.
