DirectX and D3D in RMXP?

Hi Everyone!

As I was going through my old posts (got bored, started looking) I had a look at one of my earlier ideas, D3D in RMXP.
Could it be possible (either through a DLL or some other method) to take a screenshot of the game screen, for example, and place it on to a 3d sphere in game as a material?
Perhaps not even D3D, any 3d engine (openGL?) would suffice.

Could anyone be able to help me on this matter, and perhaps help me with a script for inclusion of a 3d engine DLL, taking a screenshot, generating a material from that screenshot, and calling functions from the 3d engine DLL to create a 3d sphere and apply the texture?

My last recollection from early discussion of 3D effects (a few years ago) was that you can't use existing 3D engines from RGSS. If it helps you, though, you can take screenshots in RMVX with Graphics.snap_to_bitmap
