Diffrent Battle Back Style...

I'm messing around with some filters and I want to know if these look like something someone could use:

What do you think? I'll keep tring to make something new and fun, but I'd like to hear oppinios on this look.

Also, would anyone like the battle backs in an old photo look?

It looks alright in my opinion... however it's nothing too special... it's pretty much just the same ole' rtp with some filter added on. I suppose it could work in a unique way? Interesting to say the least.

Dont like either of them. Unless your characters look like they were done in crayon or something - crayon can be good - I suspect it will clash horribly with them.

Which filters/ways are you using to do these? They take the battlebacks from more of an animeish look into something deeper.

I'm using Gimp 2, First I use this filter (see picture):

Then I used a filter Retinex (Filters> Color) on the 2 masks that are created:

that's what I thought too, I already started kickin my computer, cuz I thought my graphic card is loose or something ;D

Nevertheless I think this style is pretty funny, even though it hurts my eyes after lookin a few (maybe 30) seconds at it :D
You should maybe try to not do this effect too much.
