  • Lito Vargas isn't reeeallly much of an anime-style, more influenced.
  • Light direction is a major acting flaw for Lito, as he doesn't look like he's actually moving from his original standing position.
  • Clothing folds and dynamics seem to be your weak area there too.

Needs some work here and there on the proportions but besides that, they look... interesting... The center character seems to have a thin upper arm (compared to the opposite arm).

  • Interesting style you're aiming for.
  • Done before, but well portrayed.
  • In my personal opinion, I would recommend you develop your clothing and style more.
  • None-stop muscle men is a pretty big put off and most of your (new) characters appear to have small(er) upper skull areas (brain).

Other than that, excellent stuff.

your very talented at drawing and coloring/shading.

You should make a how to color/shade tutorial it would be rather helpfull, and one more thing, your 3rd ones pic's hair looks like a big black bag with no shading/lighting. You might wanna add some high-lights and shading to it.

Ps, I know right, I am giving tips about hair, and I can hardly color in hair.

Besides those facts, Good Work!

Thanks xinrua. Its ok to give me advice. I dont mind if your good or not. As for the hair, I completely rushed it. I just wanted to finish it. The hair, the hand, the  coloring of the pants and suitcase were all rushed.

And for the tutorial, I was thinking of making one. I use a tablet and I don't know how many people here have one. Thats why I haven't started it.

But thank you for your advice. I had personal stuff to deal with today, but I should finish my commission piece by tomorrow and start back on my own stuff.

I can't see anything here but I have seen your DA account in the past and I like your style. Anyway I also got a wacom tablet (bamboo new for $60USD) and I know at least a few others here have a tablet if that helps.

Ok. Thats good to know. I could do a couple styles of coloring. I paint, and I know how to do a soft cel-shaded style. I'll work on the tutorials asap. Thanks guys.

Tablets are definitely the way to go. They let you interact more naturally with your art. I have a low end one ( Genius PenSketch 8X6) and it works really well. But soon, I shall have a wacom again....................sigh.

Otherwise. Definitely nice clean lineart. Your pencil work seems decent as well. ^__^

Hey, who said I was bad?
And besides my only problem I think it spriting, coloring, and grammer.
lol.

anyway, I think if you post a tut on coloring, it would be helpful for others, including me.

BTW, I love your Xonia Poster, it looks BACOSA.

B= BAD
A= ASS
C= CHUNK

Awesome Bro

The first sketches are just that .... crappy sketches of anatomy. Nothing really there to comment on.

The sketchy lines in your second piece are fairly nice. Good work!

Yea, the first picture is just there to help show progress. Not there for critique. You can if you want to, but thats something that will change over time. There called gestures. It helps capture the mood faster and is necessary when it comes to character design.

As for the second picture, thanks. It was a unplanned rush piece. Nothing serious. Just messing around. I'll post more serious pieces later.

for some reason, i never understood gestures in drawing school. they made me angry. they always just look like human-shaped squiggles. i would always go straight for the wire mesh/skeletal outline and my teachers would get super pissed :/

i mean, yours look kinda neat. but i never understood why so many art teachers fap to it :)

It helps capture your idea quickly without focusing on any details. Plus it helped you understand human anatomy a little better. Thats why its called a gesture. Your capturing the gesture of the object. You do 10-30 second sketches. Drawing as much as you can within a 20 minute time frame. There fun because you pretty much get to scribble.

i get gestures. what i don't get is why while i was majoring in game design our life drawing models were neither busty nor beautiful. When was the last time you saw an ugly old saggy gym sock of a human being saving the world from certain peril?

never. thats when.

Frankly there's little i can say about gestures since they're just that.

as far as ur hatched face goes, a.) what did u draw that with and b.) That insanely dark black line around your head is totally inappropriate. too much of an extreme when compared to the rest of it. and too blocky. if ur working with hatching, line weight is really important.

also ur eyebrows could use a deblockinating.

the perspectives not half bad though. did you use reference or just BS it.

To Mascarpone: For the picture, I just copied a picture I took of myself and started scribbling. I added the black line to help the contrast between light and dark because the face blended in the background all too well. Maybe I should go back and look at it. Maybe I'll see what your talking about.

pretty sexie work you got there. post more

edit: Something i did to help build a visual library of costumes and clothing was, i goggled every civilization ever in existence and studied they're clothing. With a good visual library of clothing and such you can create really unique characters by combining them all into something unique. Just a tip, helped me.
