Desktop - boxes around text

I'm working on arranging my desktop, added a new wallpaper, but there are white boxes around all the text ':| Anyone know how to get rid of them?

A question...did you happen to download the image then set as wallpaper?

I downloaded it, editted it in Fireworks, then set it as a background.

Ahhhh thats the problem...for some reason when you set images you own to your background they usually mess up, try uploading it and then setting it as your background...for some reason that works for me...or maybe changing the file type might help....try saving as a jpeg.

Also Gifs do that to your desktop aswell. Make sure the image is a JPEG, that always works for me. Alternatively, right click on my computer > Properties > Advance > Performace - Then click custom settings and the visual side of your desktop settings is all in there.
