Story
After the explosion in Raccoon City, Ballad Town which has the another Laboratory of Umbrella Corporation, gets suspected by the police and government. One day, the police headquarter got suspicious phone call. A police force was sent to investigate for a clue. But no report were made back to the headquarter. You have to find them, and find out what was happened...

The nightmare is just begins...

The main character. Player can choose to be male or female, and can rename him/her. They are polices from New York who come to investigate Umbrella USA. They have been practiced with CIA. Therefore, they are good at using weapons. They can use most types of weapon in this game.

The girl who came into this factory for some reason. She got imprisoned because she saw the secret experiment. (In demo, it will be in the secret room behind bookshelf). After we found her, it seems like she is looking for someone...

The scientist who just entered Umbrella. He is good and loyal guy, but he is also too easy to follow someone. The reason why he is working in Umbrella is because he got deceived. After he knew the real objective of Umbrella, he got imprisoned. He is able to escape after that. He knew a little bit about how to use gun since he has been in military. (In demo, you can use this character in "Escape Together" mode only)

Well, you haven't really explained enough for me to get a solid grip on the story but man I gotta say, those characters do NOT fit into the Resident Evil universe at all. If Resident Evil had a cute chibi version where everyone used nerf guns maybe, but I see you have blood on the title-screen indicating to me that this is all but a harmless game. I mean, the main characters who are police officers look like they're about 10 years old for christ sake. I typically won't play these types of games on rpg maker but I would really look into different face graphics. Just my opinion.

I'll give the game ago. Tell you in a day or two what I think. I will agree with what Magicant said though. The look of the characters might throw off a player, maybe a slight narrowing of the eyes and a darker color scheme may help give it a middle ground between RPG Maker's style and the darker game Resident Evil should be.

Anyway, yes. The face graphic. What about posing yourself or some folks around here on the frame :wink: (Just kidding)

Well, it's Ark Thompson right? So why don't we use his own face?

And the little girl, we can borrow her face from some other game, like Silent Hill

P.S. Well done, for the shooting system. Putting in some good BGM, then it's perfect.
 
I know that. But, I can't find the face what I want.
I find the face from the site, from the program created faces. But, there aren't.

If you tell me this, Why you not try find for me some? :haha:
 
It isn't their responsibility to find the face graphics for your game. :/

They give you comments and suggestion. You make the decision whether you want to do something about it or not.

Don't forget that you can always request for resources in 'Resource Requests' subforum and graphics are something that can be changed easily during the game development. You can use these facesets for now and once you found or got the facesets that are better, you can replace them later on. No need to be hurry.

The menu screen looks nice. I think the face graphic on the top left is too small though.

Other than that, good luck with this. It's always good to have more horror games. :smile:
 
First Impressions from 30 minutes of game play

1. The controls can possibly be streamlined.

2. The script needs some repair, especially in terms of language use, I'm pretty confused as to why I'm at the factory, who I work for and so on. The information is there, but it's not presented well.

3. The unicorn coin puzzle is not explained at all. It was blind luck that I figured it out.

4. A lot of puzzle items should not be automatically used. For example, the crank puzzle. I clicked on the puzzle area and it went ahead and used the crank. Remember in the old Resident Evil games it would go something like:

"There is a hexagonal hole in the wall."

you'd then open your items menu, find what you think the item need was and use it. You can probably accomplish something like this with the use of conditional branches and variables.

5. Still on the matter of items. Since this is a very low graphics game and a lot of the nifty cut-scenes (like ladders falling, fountains stopping or starting, computers turning on, etc) can not be seen they need to be explained. So if I use an item to make a ladder descend I should get some kind of text saying that.

6. The zombies reset to their default location when the player leaves the room. I don't know about other people but I abused that glitch(?) quite a few times.

Overall, though, I am enjoying the game. Good work, keep it up!

Hey there Nechi!

I just give your game a play and finished it around 40 minutes. It's really well-done for a demo. I didn't play any of Resident Evil Series so...I can't really comment on the story. Here are some pros and cons:-

THE GOOD
1. Love the shooting system. (you made it yourself?)
2. The astmosphere is created really well.
3. The puzzles is okay.

THE BAD
1. The dialogue can be improve.
2. The puzzle should be more challenging like shadow said.

Anyway, continue the game it's great!
 
i did enjoy playing the game so here are my thoughts:

1.puzzles way too easy
2.the controls wernt my favorite, ive played worse tho
3.the graphics are ok
4.the english needs to be polished up
5.overall i think this will end up being a great game
 
Just been playing your demo, and I have to say...I really like it.
It's got a nice Resi atmosphere to it. The music and sound effects are spot on. I love the heart beat monitor on the hud. It's great that you have chosen to use all the classic ideas, like the mixing of herbs, and the typewriter that can only be used to save your game if you have enough reels etc.
The controls were not my favorite either (having to memorize what keys do what without it feeling intuitive), but you get that alot with RMXP games and yes the English needs a bit of work, otherwise great! Keep it up, look forward to playing the whole game.
 
nechigawara, I love this demo, and I think the only thing holding this game back is the English text and dialogue, which I would be happy to offer suggestions on because I want this game to be the best it can be. I went ahead and smoothed out a lot of the lines in case you're up for throwing them into the mix or using them as a template, though I haven't finished the demo yet. I just unlocked the diamond door so far.

Here is what I did. There's lots of plot spoilers, so nobody should read this but nechigawara or people who have played the demo. oh, my name is DAN in the demo, so ignore all the DAN references. The changes are listed chronologically, in the order I encountered them in the game.

We have little information about that virus, but we believe it was created by Umbrella Corporation.

So now the police and the military are keeping an eye on Umbrella, its subsidiary companies, and its employees.

We called you here because last week we received a strange call from Umbrella's factory here in Ballad town.

The call was brief and noisy, but we could discern that it was a distress call from someone asking for help.

We've sent several officers to investigate but haven't heard back from any of them.

We want you to search the place and confirm whether or not anyone inside is still alive.

You are being given a gun, but you are authorized to use deadly force only if absolutely necessary.

Now get to the factory and begin your investigation. Report in via radio when you learn anything.

26 Jan
We have used the Nervous Control System developed by Dr. Mark to control the nervous system replacement process, allowing us to edit individual DNA sections. The operation worked, but the subject lacks the ability to transform. And there's a problem with supplying the needed energy. We will fix this in the next step by making enabling the test subject to make energy by itself.

28 Jan
That's it! The only remaining problem is controlling the subject when the control signal gets weak, causing the subject to go berzerk. The immense height and weight of the subject prevent fast movements. In fact, the thing hardly moves at all.

31 Jan
We're determined to add some kind of genetic mechanism to improve the subject's mobility, but that is beyond our capabilities here, so our DNA researcher in Paris will be given the sample next week to continue the work.

My work is finished! The staff told me "upon completion call us and we will move the subject." Waiting is so boring, so I went to go get my wages from the guy in charge. On the way, though, I overheard some scientists talking. What the hell is this, a biological weapon?

30 Jan
After I finished my work they put me into an underground cell. The clock and the marks on the wall tell me I've been here about five days now. I don't think I can survive in here, but I found a way to escape. The air vent!

5 Feb

I escaped from the cell, but something terrible has happened here. All the people have become zombies! I won't survive long in here, but I can't get out. I have to call someone for help...

I died while fighting in the test tube lab room, and when I pressed continue I got this message:

There are some recurring problems with items and such where text repeats, so correct those in all the places they occur, though I might have only corrected them once. This is a great demo, and I want to play more!
 
Actually I really like this game. Its kinda short and as said before the english needs work. But other than that its solid. Its not really scary. But
when the hunters showed up and the metal tyrant that kinda took me by surprise
I'd be willing to draw you some facesets though if you'd like. :D just facesets though nothing more nothing less.

Other than that its a really good game. Also sometimes on the second floor where you get the battery. If you don't get the battery when Lili is with you and you try to go back down she gets stuck on the first tile by the door not making you able to get the battery if you come back. It'll just say, "I can't leave lili behind"

But yeah it was pretty good. Not going to lie. I managed to make it through with killing only 3 enemies. So thats a plus. :)
 
Grammar is terrible, dialogue is as unrealistic as the original resident evil.

"You found spades key.
Would you like to recive this?
[Yes]
[No]"
The player says that, so he is talking to himself, he found a key and is concidering if he wants to "recive" it or not. Generally ingame he seems to have the dialect of a 13 year old, the protagonist sounds pretty much; insane.

[Girl]

Change that for [Male] [Female], actually, in my opinion, you shouldn't let the player role play themselves, even if it is RPG Maker, name the main character yourself and maken them a boy or girl yourself rather than let the player name them and such.

I tried the new demo,

The typos honestly don't bug me. If anything, they are paying tribute to the original Resident Evil awful dialogue. All in all, it plays very well. The eventing was well done, and the combat system was good. Although, the game doesn't explain why you would start out with such little ammo. Hm. Anyway, even though the talking does mess up the story, still this is a Resident Evil Game, so I expected it to not be great. :D

If you can fix the dialogue, than I think this can be a very good game, that many would enjoy.
