Oh geezus. I downloaded the pics and read this topic so here's my opinion....

and I'm sure everyone will like it

Please. PLEASE do not assume that everyone will absolutely love your project, etc. You come off as cocky and arrogant (which would be fine if your project was really something amazing... which unfortunately it isn't) and you put up more hype than there should be. I apoligize if I'm coming off hurtful and arrogant myself (believe me I do not believe that my own project is god's gift to man, but I've put my heart into it and I think it shows) so I know you're trying "hard" with your project... but it looks sooooo bad in those screenshots. Everything clashes, the sprites, the characters, etc. I'm sorry but it seriously upsets me when someone comes here to .org and makes a game topic believing that their game is this amazingly cool innovative project that everyone will love (even more so with fangames because so far there's really maybe one or two that deserve the praise [Pokémon Acanthite and Chrono Crisis]) when really all it is, is a game that mixes different graphic styles and random internet pictures and puts the franchise logo on it. I give you praise for trying a fangame, I'll give you that much. If you are truly dedicated to this project, however, really put your heart and soul into it and make it something worth looking at. In it's current state I see a game that anyone with a bit of knowledge with RPG Maker XP could do. Anyone can find CoM rips and use them in RPG Maker XP and call it a KH game.

I'll help you out with some tips tho' which perhaps you may or may not utilize in the future.

DO NOT mix sprites from the RTP with random CoM ripped sprites. It looks horrendous.

Don't mix images either, same as above.

PLAY THE ENTIRE KINGDOM HEARTS TRILOGY! (KH1, KH:CoM, and KH2) Playing a "part" of KH2 is unacceptable if you want to be taken seriously with this game. There are many diehard fans of KH everywhere and if you are going to put the name "Kingdom Hearts" on this project, it better be something that deserves to have that name.

Lastly: Watch your grammer and spelling.

PLEASE, PLEASE, don't waste takent (if it exists) and time reMaking some other Videogame you love, you can't just do equal, well, you can do pokémon games and final fantasy, but more, I don't think so.

jeez...i think this game looks pretty good...i mean sure, its just a fan game made with rpg maker XP, so you cant expect it to be that great, but jeez. only the real kh fans will like most likely enjoy it. maybe think posative? so you dont bash the man after just seeing screen shots and trailors. maybe give him a chance. and if you dont like it, fine say that. but dont say "awful" and "learn how to spell" that one has nothing to do with the project. it just so happens they misspelt somthing.

i think it looks good for what it is. and hope you can learn not to "bash the hell" out of people that want nice helpful feedback, that wont make you look like a prick.

If you read through my first post I offered some helpful tips to the kid. Don't go defending him just for the sake of "atleast he's trying, etc, etc." I acknowledged that fact but like I've said to so many noobs before:

ANYTHING YOU POST HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE ANALYZED, CRITIQUED, AND COMMENTED ON BY ANOTHER MEMBER

He posted information on his game and I gave my opinion. That doesn't mean he has to take it. I EVEN SAID THAT IN MY FIRST POST. Only TRUE KH fans will love this game? Are you serious?! As a "true" KH fan myself, I almost feel offended. And yes I'm going to judge this kid on his spelling and grammar because if he can't even spell right in his game topic, then what should I expect in-game? So don't go picking a fight with me Mr. Whothehellareyou, because I have every right to give my opinion on the matter. It's not like I completely flamed the kid. I gave advice as well.

SO before you go running your mouth, get some logic and reason behind what you say, that way you don't look like a complete idiot.

Sorry to say that, but the trailer looks horrible. The sprites don't match, alone the windowskin is horrible. Some characters don't even move smoothly.

After Chain of Memories, isn't Sora like frozen in time or something? How could there be a game that takes place than.

Anyway, JDS is right. This game looks thrown togeather. Shouldn't a KH game have an ABS or something? I don't mind fangames, but it would be better if it took place after KH2 or before KH1, since I don't think this game can fit into the KH timeline.

And don't make it seem like everyone is awaiting your project. It sounds really arrogant.

i got in contact with the creator, and he spilt some of the story about that. there is a reasable explination for that. but i dont want to give it away. youll find out if you play the game ^^

^^ i wouldnt say praising, id say supporting. waiting until trailors and demos come out then praise what they have done well, and say what they need to work on. which is pretty much what you did ^.^

in my opinion, you cant really remake a kindom hearts game with rpg maker xp, what make kindom hearts kindom hearts is the real time battle and its very hard to capture that with rpg maker xp.


also, try and make your own rpt sprites or if you dont know how, request it, dont just rip it out of KH:COM.
remove the voice over if possible, cuz when i hear the voice over, i just laughed.


and i think the reason why his video glitched soo much because of his video capturing program.


but back to the game, like most ppl said, the video look very much thrown together, what i would like to see is you making your own tilesets & sprites, and maybe draw your own characters, cuz that girl archer with green hair didnt really fit the description of a KH character, she dont really look like she was drawn with the HK style.


and lastly, KH is all about button smashing, so dont even try to make it into a turn base rpg, you're much better off with something like a sidescroller maker or something.


one more thing, dont even come off cocky about your game, this is the "introduce your game" not "check out my game!! its hella tight!! best game in the world!!" just keep it plain and simple, and just put your heart into and hope it show

I would have prefered the ending NOT spoiled, but bleh...

Anyways, as many others have already said, this needs severe work. I suggest some mapping tutorials for a start.
