DeathNote to adult swim

The anime is bad? Well, I loved the manga as well but it didn't interest me enough to actually buy the graphic novels. I'm still excited about the anime.

I saw the first few episodes of the anime. Very close to the manga. However, since it was so close, I decided to stick to the manga. Great stuff. Although it loses alot of edge after vol. 7, it's still pretty good all the way through. The ending makes sense, but kinda feels like you got gyped if you're on Light's side.

Anyway, I have all 12 volumes. It's a pretty good read. I've been telling one of my friends to read it, but it seems he'll only read the crap manga out there, like Bleach and whatever other standard shonen crap gets shoved out every week(kind of ironic, that the same magazine that publishes DN is the same one that otherwise publishes anime that I hate entirely).

I mostly never read the mangas, and I didn't read Death Note manga, but I watched the whole anime and I loved it. It's brilliant, don't know how the manga could be better seriously. Anime motion makes it more realistic.
But dubbed Death Note? I don't think it will be as good as japanese.

moar animu? i coulda swore AS claimed they were going to dump anime alltogether because it was pulling in terrible ratings..

I can imagine an anime/manga like Death Note appealing to an american audiance actually... First of all, there's not that much Japanese culture to worry about explaining, and the plot is a real puller. Also, the art on a whole doesn't feel very 'anime cliche,' with most characters having realistic features. That, and it has HOTBLOOD WRITING. Anyway, if there's one anime I've seen recently that would get a strong american audiance, especially one of varying ages, it's Death Note.

I love the manga, have read them all. But I have only seen some some episodes of the Anime....
But still, Death Note Is one of my favorite mangas ^_^!

I've seen all of the anime, and started reading the manga. I love it, its one of my favorite animes.

Misa struck me as a ditz more then a whore. Takeda is more naive then whore-ish. Mikami is right on the ball though.

Is it just me, or is Light a little Misogynistic?

You seem to be under the impression that he exactly cares about them enough to consider them friends.

The one thing that I can only say the anime has going for it (since it has some "awkward" moments between light and L that looks like it was put there for fangirls) is the ending. The way the Manga ends is a lot different then the anime's.

Actually the anime and the manga didn't end all that different unless you count the added "one year later" in the Manga.

They took a little creative license with the ending, but the ending of the anime and the ending of the manga ended pretty much the same way.

And Misa wasn't really a whore. She was genuinely loved Light, so much so that she wanted to do anything for him. If that makes you a whore then I guess my wife is a whore and so is every other girl that has ever loved someone.

I am psyched for this. I hope i dont forget to stay up late on the 20th!

The anime was awesome until the second arc. Then they sped everything up and it was like the live action movies all over again...

The ending wasnt bad, but compared to the manga, it was. The manga version; best ending EVER. I'd say its the best something else ever too, but that would give it away.

I really did quite enjoy the animes ending, it just felt rushed and there were parts i wish they kept from the manga that really emphesized on the whole situation.

As long as the voices are bad, I am going to be happy to watch it a second time in a language i can actually understand! (no more reading! yey!)
