DeadRoses

This is just a style I'm working on for my next project. It's cartoony black and white and sketchy looking. I'm no spriter so it's more fo a drawing styled set.

I've started on the tileset but it's hardly finished. So I didn't bother uploading the actual tileset just a picture in Photoshop.

(Ignore the work in the background)

There's also sort of concept of what my characters might look like. And before anyone asks, I am using a grid I just took it off for showing.

I'm sure nobody would actually use this style but I just wanted to show it anyways.

very unique style, I've seen some games that have been made with similar styles and have managed well. So, is it black and white or will you be coloring them later?

Sweet! What program did you use to make those?

Photoshop :)

Though I have to fix some problems. In-Game there's a tiny pink sliver surrounding the buildings(I've added more). But that's easy to fix.

It's because you're working with anti-aliasing and a non-invisible background. Instead of making a solid background, convert the background to a layer and delete the background all together. PNG's are capable of saving transparencies, and it works just fine in RMXP.

Were you to delete the anti-aliasing on only the edges of your objects, the entire art style would be muddled. This way, you can maintain the art style.

Word to the wise, however: Pure greytones can sometimes make viewers feel nauseated when staring for extended periods of time, especially at high contrast. If you want to maintain the colorless-ness, I suggest adding more midtones instead of harsh blacks and whites to lessen the chances of making your players nauseated :').
