For those that don't know, Darwinia (made by the same guys responsible for the excellent hacker adventure Uplink), was recently released officially in stores across North America via distributor Cinemaware Marquee (the same guys responsible for the localization of Space Rangers 2).

Darwinia is a unique blend of Real Time Strategy and Action. The graphics are reminiscent of an Amiga turned 3D (the game takes place inside of a virtual world within an old computer) and their blend of colors and complex animations gives the game this surreal feel that I haven't seen in any game to date. It's pretty fun, and although it's short for some people (10-14 hours), there's downloadable content available to expand the game.

I recommend this to anyone looking to expand their game library. It's available on Steam as well but the boxed version nets you a keychain and poster which are nice supplementals. I hope more Indie developers get signed on because there's quite a few decent games people are missing due to a lack of an official, in-store release.
