darkness in caves

How would you make a cave look like you are in the dark? I mean something like you can see your self and about 3 squares around you but everything else is dark.

Do yo mean, like in pokemon were you have to use "flash"??

kinda I think there is one pokemon game where it is like that, only a bit of the cave lights up but not too much. thanks. I use the search feature but I never find exactly what I look for

There are two options here. You can make a picture that's completely black, with a white circle in the center, then show it and center it on the player (with variables). The other method is to get a good, dark screen tint that you like, then make a picture of a white or yellow-ish circle, and show it on Add.

I will try that. I didnt know you could make it, I thought it might have been a script or something...either way let me try that
