Cutscenes with autostart

I try to make a cutscene with autorub, so the cutscene starts without the player having to walk into an event. If I make the event a player touch, and the player walks into the event, the cutscene plays out perfectly. But if i try to do the same with an autorun event, the game locks up and nothing happens. I just want to scene to start automatically, without the player having to walk into an event

With Autorun, you need to stop it from trying to execute more than once.

At the bottom of your event commands, add a "Control Self Switch: A =ON"
Now, create a new event page, and set the Conditions to "Self Switch A is ON", leave the trigger on "Action Button"

Well I think I had a similiar problem with mine. If you have parellel process events going on, then it won't work. In the autorun event just at the top put in the wait command for about 2-5 frames. That should work. It did for me.

If you use parallel process, you can still walk around while other characters are moving or sounds are playing, although not when text is being shown. Autorun is probably the best option here, just remember to use self-switches like Brewmeister said.
