Custom Main Menu's

Hey guys!
In the middle of making my new game. Merrily Eventing along until I realized that I didn't have a good menu.
Hmmm... I wondered. I'm might leave this until the end of my game but... meh.
I need some help making a menu in a map. So... is there anyway to disable the main menu when you start up
the game? How would I make a menu in a game map? Do I use pictures? And finally, how do I make buttons
in the maps? Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.
