Custom Face Not Working

I made a custom face online. It's a JPG image and it's dimensions are 96x94. When I upload it to my game and go to select it for the actor in the Database, it only selects 1/6th of the face to view.

Why is this?

((I didn't know where else to post this))

What are you trying to do with the face? Is it for talking? O.o

Did you put it where the sprite belongs, or the battler? If it's the sprite, it's because RMXP (or VX) is assuming you have four frames of movement per row. It won't do that for the battler, though.

Good luck! :)

(I probably didn't explain this very well. I'm not too good with words - but I can help you more if you give more details. ^_^)

In RPG Maker VX, a face graphic is split up into an image that contains 8 faces, in two rows of four. The faces are each 96x96 pixels, which means that you'll need an image that is 384 pixels wide and 192 pixels tall, with the graphic you want in the top left of the image.

Awesome Bro

Unless he calls it $filename, right ?

I'm sure for single sets you put a $ before it, haven't used it in a while, but since it works for charactersets I assume it'll work for faces too.

That works for characters sets, but as far as I know, it doesn't work for face sets. But I only checked the help file. I didn't actually test it.

The 384 by 192 pixels didn't work either. It just made a bigger image, the VX divided the image up into 8 separate sections.

Sorry. I should have explained it a little better. Instead of increasing the size of your image, you should place it within a larger image of the size I mentioned, in the top left corner. This is because it will divide that larger image into the 8 sections, and one of those sections will be the picture you wanted.

Simple, copy your face across 3 times (so you have 4 faces on the top line) and 4 on the bottom line also, and this way when you go to choose a face, it divides the faces by how big your picture is, and will choose a whole face :D
