The city of Askarin lies in the realm of Topas, in the world Averta. The city was hit by a massive attack during a civil war several years ago.
This attack shaped the city and killed it's economy. The poor have a terrible life and it is really hard to survive.
But a mysterious vigilante Fox pops up to aid the poor, but this Fox is heavily criticised by both poor and rich. And a price is put on his head by the Askarin Guard.

Appearance A young scruffy man, his black hair covering the back of his neck and his forehead. Deep green eyes piercing as shiny emeralds. His clothes are unwashed and torn hiding away a most expensive armour only one of great fortune could buy. The man's skin is tanned by the many hours of walking guard in the sun. He doesn't have the air that other rich have and tries to hide away his origin. He is reluctantly the sergeant of the Askarin Guard where he has to wear a shiny red armour with a massive golden A on the chest.
Weapon of Choice As every member of the Guard, Toren is trained in the long sword.Though he can use any sword as his father trained him when he was young.
Talents As a member of the Guard Toren has learned the skill of not only sword fighting but also basic hand to hand fighting and stealth. He isn't the person you would find in a crowd.He usually hides in the fields where he draws landscapes a talent he got from his mother.

He was born in Askarin a harbour city in the north of Topas which was wealthy and rich thanks to trade between the Island of Demenor. During the civil war Askarin was attacked by a fleet of Demenorian ships. Toren's father who was sergeant at the time was one of the few survivers when the fleet turned back. Duke Azemar de Loas granted Demenor autonomy. The relations between the Island and the City were rotten and the City became more and more a shadow of it's old self. Sergeant Iscaroth became the new Marshal. The mother of Toren was Elena Fradrich from the city of Partino deep in the south the Capitol of Topas she left Partino to find work in the wealthy city of Askarin but arrived at the start of the civil war , during these days she met Trevor and got a child Toren.
Toren was talented at young age and enjoyed the luxury at home. He used to sit at the edge of Askarin Forest drawing deer and fearless of a possible wolf attack. He had his father's talent of fighting and went to the Academy when he was 17. But during these days he also saw further then the luxury of home and beautiful forests. He saw the poverty and remembered how his mother left the poverty of Partino to find luck here. When he was recruited in the Guard he was treated like the most important member he became the rank of Sergeant at very young age. He realized that the ranks of the Askarin Guard where filled with rich who don't have any respect for poor they even locked away the poor for the most idiotic reasons thinkable. Toren has been in charge of the foxcase for years but has been kicked of it.

Appearance Kela has light-brown hair tied back so it only covers the back of her head. She has light blue eyes and a white skin. She wears a cheap armor that only covers most of her body the armor and is dented at places and once belonged to her older brother Dwane.
Weapon of Choice Kela’s weapon of choice is the bow. She is a child of the slums the name they give people born in the slums and has to hunt for her food. She learned the skill of the bow from her older brother Dwane who learned it from his late father.
Talents Kela is very skilled with the bow and able to kill a target from a remarkable distance. She isn’t skilled with hand to hand fighting and is relatively weak. For a girl of the slums she had a good education and shows high intelligence.
Occupation She worked in the local item shop until her mother had to sell it, now she is unoccupied.

Her father died defending Askarin he was one of the Archer’s seven, a group of the 7 most skilled archers in service of the army. She was raised by her older brother Dwane who was 10 years older then her, her mother worked in the shop. She was home schooled by her grandfather who once was a Minister of The Seat and a Scholar. When her grandfather died she decided to help her mother in the shop but the customers stayed away.The few people who visited the shop were loyal but her mother had to sell the shop. One day her brother was captured by the Askarin Guard while hunting for rabbits in the Ex-Marshals hunting fields, the Guard was strict and the High Judge decided that the boy should receive the death penalty. The night before his execution he was set free by the mysterious Fox.But soon the Marshal accompanied by some members of the Guard after service were knocking at their doors they searched the house for Dwane.Found him and set them for a choice the boy shall live if they reveal where they can find Fox, unable to answer the Guards killed the boy.
A few nights later she saw Fox striding through the streets again, and saw the young thief Jax and good friend of Dwane sneak of. She warned Fox as she was sure Jax was informing the Guard...

Weapon of Choice Agra is skilled in the sword. She’s been fighting with sword ever since she joined the guard at the age of 16 and seems to have a talent for it.
Talents Soon as Agra joined the Guard they discovered she had a great agility. She runs faster then many trained athletes. Agra is a perfectionist and doesn’t quit after failing.

She fights for the slum though even going so far as in helping Toren confront The Seat of Topas with the poverty of Askarin. Failing in that she helps Toren find ways to help the poor.

He was certain that no one had seen it, but in reality Marshal Lukas Xaver was standing not far from him. He was held captive for witchcraft and was forced to make potions for the Guard. Because of it’s usefulness he was not executed.

The start of Jax's mysterious life becomes more and more mysterious. He is adopted by Veronica Martilles, mother of Kela and Dwane. Soon Dwane and Jax become good friends, working together to steal from the rich. But when Dwane is captured and later killed, Jax turns furious to Fox who he blames for all of it. In the mean time Veronica has fillen ill from the mysterious disease Arethel's Curse.

Republic of Demenor and the civil war
The island of Demenor is an island in the north of Topas. The island is known for it’s snowy landscapes and pinewoods. Demenor is a very small Island only having three major cities, the harbour city, Kalego in the southern region where the water is safe enough to use boats in. It is also the richest because of it’s trading with Askarin. The city is also known for having a Spartan way of treating the children therefore Kalegian soldiers are very liked within the Topian army.
The second city high in the north, is the mountain city of Dakan. The city was once a fortress of the dwarves during the Cleansing of Topas every wizard, elf and dwarf were banished from Topas. Now the humans have built a city and made it it a shrine for blacksmiths all over the World.The weapon academy is very well praised among the Topians. Demenors greatest product of export are weapons and armour.
The third city is the central city of Aretas and later established as capital of Demenor during the civil war. It houses the clerics of Demenor the only ones who are allowed to use magic in Topas. Even though it is the smallest of the three cities it later became the capital after the cardinal had a vision of a great future for the city.
The civil war started after it was discovered Galomer Kanteras the cardinal of Demenor was bitten by a vampire and was in the First stages of turning into one himself. According to “The Seat†and Duke Azemar this fell under the category of Dark Magicians and should therefore be set out of the country if needed by force.
The very religious inhabitants of Demenor revolted against this statement and believed he couldn’t possible be a Vampire with the power of the Sea-goddes in him.The army of Kalego set sail towards Askarin where they started besieging the city. The Cardinal a full vampire now said in a vision that the gods had told him that great fortune would be given to Aretas if it became the Capital with him as ruling president.
After several days of siege in Askarin. Count Azemar gave in to Demenor and gave them autonomy. Cardinal-President Galomer refused to show his face during daytime and the few times he was seen he was skinny and pale. The people of Aretas discovered their cattle killed almost slaughtered and they started to believe that Azemar might be right after all. They raided the church of Aretas and the Cardinal-President was thrown in the basin of Holy Water. His skin got burned and eventually there was nothing left of him. Cardinal-President Ortores Varey took over he was a soldier during the civil war and wasn’t willing to forgive the deeds of Topas. Though it is now on peaceful terms with Topas it still refuses to trade with any city within that land.

The cleansing of Topas happened during the period Azemar was Duke of Topas. He considered the Holy Writings made by the Oracle of Averas as a base for religion to all. In these writings it was told that the four gods created the continents and each continent was made for a different race all divided, none should set foot in the realm of the others without blessing of the Gods.
Topas was the realm of Humans, Ryo the realm of the Dwarves, Pharion the realm of Elves and Darmor the realm of Wizards. Duke Azemar was a religious person and tried to follow these rules word by word. He considered the Humans as the race blessed by the Gods as Gods have the same looks as a human and therefore Humans were the children of Gods.
He banned every Wizard, Dwarf and Elf from the realms of Topas and gave them 1 month to leave the country. Magic was once a skill widely spread throughout Topas but now only the Clerics may use it. In the northern region of the province of Demenor lied the dwarven stronghold Dakan. They stood sturdy against the human armies of Topas but eventually all dwarves perished and the stronghold of dwarves became a stronghold of men.
The province of Demenor was ruled by the Cardinal but the city of Aretas was cursed with a family of Vampires. The Duke gave the order to the Cardinal to perform and Exorcism on them or burn their flesh in the Holy Water.
During the exorcism the Cardinal was bitten by the Vampires, which was kept secret. But word reached the Duke and demanded the banishment of the Cardinal as he was a Dark Magician now. The population of Demenor who were very religious and believed that revolting against their Cardinal was a sure ticket to the Underworld.So they defended their Cardinal. They declared war and the ships of Kalego sailed out towards the Port City of Askarin where a long siege followed. Cardinal Galomer demanded autonomy from Topas, the economy of Topas was in danger during this siege and eventually Duke Azemar gave in.
The Cardinal became Cardinal-President and during the following years Demenor flourished but the curse of Vampires returned to Aretas. The cattle of the local farmers was slaughtered and the Cardinal President locked himself up in the church during daytime. Many believed that the Duke may be right after all, and raided the Church, they forced the Cardinal in the Holy Water where he got burned and died.
High Priest Ortores Varey took his place he was once a warrior during the Civil War and remembered the cruelty of the armies of Topas. He refused any form of trading with Askarin.

Picking it up they discovered it's potential. It gave immortality to anyone who ever touches it. The Iluminate soon began to call themselves Gods and they lived on their own high in the sky. Why don't the faces fit the charsets?
The faces are placeholder, I have a faceset artist (Gyrowolf aka D-Pad) working on the faces.
Why are most custom charsets generated?
Because I have no spriter at this moment. I hope I will find one soon.

Why don't you have a custom titlescreen?
I will, but it's Work In Progress at the moment.
Why don't you have gameplay in the demo.
Because not all gameplaysystems are ready to be released for the demo, though I hope to release something playable
by new year.
