Critique My Banners Please

Ok I'm making banners for my website The MegaMan Nation.(yes I changed the name for legal reasons)

Anyways. Please rate my banners and tell me what you think of them.

1.Are they good?

2.Which ones do you like and why?

Honestly, I don't like any of them. They look to amateurish and unappealing to the eye. The text isn't blended well and doesn't fit in with the background. The renders just look as if you plopped them in there to fill up space and the backgrounds aren't so great either. Try looking up some tutorials at some good graphic sites like pixel2life.com. They have some good banner tutorials along with layout ones.

To be honest, they're pretty ugly. The backgrounds are all clearly just single clicks of functions in the GIMP, and the rest of it is just horrible non-aliased text and hideous graphic rips.

I'd really recommend scrapping them, looking at some tutorials, and starting over.

The backgrounds didn't make sense. Fire, water, thunder, wind, there really wasn't any connection. The texts doesn't really work out.

On a side note, why is there so little megaman legends? I loved that one...

In addition to the backgrounds being ugly, as other people have mentioned, they're too busy. Instead of having several Megaman pics in conflicting art styles, which looks bad and is really distracting, pick one and make something more utilitarian. Also, the text is really ugly. Why isn't it anti-aliased?

the text is too plain simple. Try adding some effect (just some not too many) on it to make it like an official clean one. The image in itself is correct. (the 1st is not really good but the next are fine imo)

aaah oh god font effects they BURN.

Also, even ASIDE from the horrible stylistic choices, take a look at the side edges of your text.
See how the effect cuts off sharply? Looks horrible.

Seriously, pick a nicer (read: not default, but still nice) font, fuck the effects, and try again.

This one is better than the others, but it's still not all that good.

This one is better yes. Try to put a border to your bond or/and a drop shadow... than a crazy effect like you have done. The cleaner and simpler the texte look the better you can have. Try a simple fine texte with drop shadows, borders and after add some after like you have done. But try do make the effects a minimal as you can to avoid the bad uber effect newbies use is titles.

Still not really a big fan of the font, or the purple. The borders around the text look pretty bad, as Croda said, even just a simple drop shadow can look much better. Also, center the text, it looks bizarre off to one side.

stop using mspaint text effects and megaman google images with generic photoshop backgrounds. nothing in these banners meshes well with anything else, the graphical inconsistency is one of the things that's really killing you here and it looks like something a thirteen-year-old kid drummed up in ten minutes for his angelfire site. I'd suggest you try a different formula than "plaster megaman pictures I found over a premade background and then add plain text as an afterthought."

I don't have an issue with criticism but don't disrespect me. None of these images were google images, nor the comment of doing work like an thirteen year old.

I really fuckin hate them.
Seriously, you just get random rockman images from internet, and
just put them in same image and just add MSPaint text.
Anyone could do that stuff.

Problem :
Most of them have some bad text.
You should add effects on it!

You fucked up. four of them are too different!
fist one and last one is animation version of rockman.
but second, thirds are original character! and last rockman is too blurry.
It's hard to view. And background looks shitty ashell.
and why text is in "RED" color?

This one is actually not very bad. But you placed text in wrong place.
Try to place text on center or left edge of banner.

last character is not really fits in that background.

What the Fuck?
This one is most shitty of all. I hate that colors.
the Most problem is zero's sword have to be half-transparent, but it isn't.
Third character have same problem. Understand?

I'm going to have to agree with everybody on this one, these aren't very good at all. All you're doing is copying and pasting Megaman art onto a background without doing anything aesthetically pleasing to the pictures. The only kind of significant effects that you've done are an outline to your basic fonts, and that's something you can do in one click in most art programs.

You have too much going on in such a small space. You should focus your banner on ONE picture, not everything you can find relating to Vile or Megaman or whatever. If you're not even willing to do that, find a cooler looking font than Arial or at least something that looks like the official Megaman font.

If you're asking for critiques, then the least you should do is try to listen to the criticism that you're getting, which I don't think you've done. The first one you made is still way too busy and although you didn't use any funky text affects, you didn't use any GOOD ones either, so it comes across as looking plain. You were also told that your backgrounds were ugly, and while you got rid of those, you didn't make any significant improvements by making it a plain gradient.

As for the second one, you only have the one character, which is good, but at the same time the background really doesn't match the art, there's a whole lot of white space, and your font is really plain.

Like Akirau said, these are very amateur-looking. It's true that other things that look good may require the same amount of work, but it's all about coming across as professional. Look at the majority of company logos for reference:they're simple, yet they get the message across and feel fancy at the same time.
