Critical questions about RPG Maker XP

Hello everyone.. Im just wondering if anyone can help me out with RPG Maker XP as Im somewhat new to it, but have been using the RPG Maker Games for years. I have a few questions that I have been really wondering about and if anyone has any insight into them I'd greatly appreciate it.

1. Is using the pre-made sets and characters that come with the game and then selling it ok? Im not sure about this one as I have not seen anything written on it.

2. Is there anyway to allow your character or event to move straight to some place on the map without having to use the Set Move Route command, as the inability for me to make the character move from some place at a random spot on the map to a specified sqare on the map is very, very limiting "For example say I want to make a earthquake and and the person say "Oh no! Let get out of here!" and move to the front of the town entrance.. IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO WITHOUT SOMETHING TO SPECIFY AS A TARGET SOMEWHERE", but if there is a way... man I would really like to know..

3. Is there any possble way to have a character in your party controlled by the computer, IE. RPG Maker 2003 (AI Control) RPG Maker VX (Auto Battle).

Anyway to delete the sell button from a shop that I dont want to be able to sell (Ironically every other RPG Maker has all these options.

And one more thing.. is it possible for me to buy RPG Maker VX and combine its material into XP and still legally sell it? Or also RPG Maker 2003's graphics. (Im not to sure about this one).

Again thanks for any help you can offer on this, as these things are fairly crucial if Im to spend the next few months working on an RPG game.

1.) As far as I know it is totally legal, but I would not say you should. People are already somewhat annoyed by the RTP in non-commercial games.

2.) If I understand you right, you want to walk through a town and then at a random moment your Character has to move to a specific place, and you want to see him walking? That would either need one massive parallel process or a pathfinding script. Since such an process would lag like hell, I would suggest scripting.

3.)That needs scripting.

4.)Script.

5.)As far as I know that is illegal. (But I am not sure.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the help, and yes I would suspect #2 would take scripting , how much and to what degree I dont know...

Im sure the shop one would be easy, heck I dont even know scripting and I got it half way done before I got stuck.

And as far as the legality goes for the rest that still up for grabs..

Anyone..?

Well as far as legality goes...

1) When you buy the license for RMXP, you're also "buying" the right to use the RTP within the program. It's perfectly legal to sell a project that uses the RTP graphics, audio, etc. As Dalton said, people familiar with the program aren't going to be very impressed with the graphics. However, since a large portion of your market would be composed of people who've probably never touched the program themselves and won't recognize the RTP, you'd still manage to sell a very profitable number of copies.

5)  RMXP's End User License Agreement forbids the user (you, me, all these other jerks) from using the RTP of one RM in another. However, as far as my knowledge goes Enterbrain has never enforced this rule, and I doubt they would take notice unless you put the end result on the commercial market, since commercial games are much more "visible" in the private eye. I'd say that you'd be safe if you wanted to do this, but just make sure not to poke that sleeping bear.

I think I have those two right, at least.
