Convert VX animations to XP

Hi,

I'm wondering if it's possible to import RPG Maker VX's animation files to XP? I know its easy to copy over the graphic files that the animations are based off, but what I want is the actual preset animations (with their frames, sound effects, etc)

Has anyone succeeded in doing this?

I wouldn't think that there would be an easy way to do it since they are two different programs... but maybe if you play with the data files?

I'm not sure but I don't think that it is able to copy-and-paste

I can't think of any good way to do this by itself, aside from, y'know, the hard way.  The hard way should work fine, though-- just note the locations of all the frames, the timing of the sound and other effects, and recreate them.

I'm pretty sure I imported VX's animations right into XP, no editing whatsoever. Needless to say, I was pleased. I'll check though to see if this is true.

EDIT: Well, VX's animations are 5 frames wide, same as XP, and I imported a couple into XP to make sure. Worked fine. This is actually pleasantly surprising!

That part's easy-- what the OP wanted is the set animations themselves, instead of the graphics.  (In the unlikely event that somebody reading this doesn't know:  Export from VX, Import into XP, and that's that.)  Don't know any way to do that except the hard way, unless somebody has a brilliant idea.

Only catch with the VX stuff, since it allows two different animation sheets to be used for one animation, straight out importing only works for half the animations. The rest requires some photoshopping to combine the sheets used.
