Continuation of Background Music After Battles

Just checking...is this one still impossible? I'd really love to be able to have the bgm pick up where it left off after each battle. It's kind of annoying in the areas where there are lots of battles to hear the same 15 seconds of music before you battle again...

It would seem impossible, as the BGM would have to search for a memorized point (something that RMXP is too stupid to do), but if the battle music was the same as the BGM and there was no pre-battle SE or post-battle ME, then the music WOULD continue...
