[contest entry] Lights out mini

Week 2: Technical Development Challenge Entry.

First time using Gamemaker. It's a lot more flexible then rpgmaker. Don't know why I never tried it before.
Figuring out how to make the lights out game gave me a headache. I had to sleep on it before I figured it out. Using objects in GM is alot like events in RPGM. So I guess you could call this an event-system.

Controls:
Left-click areas to investigate. Right-click to go back.
On the screen with the locks, Left-click-drag to the sides of the screen to pan around.
Pod.png

When you run the exe the game starts with a screen of a pod. No tilescreen. Theres only a few things to look at and click. All you are suppose to do is unlock the hinges on the side of the pod by getting the lights out. Clicking a light turns on/off the surronding lights. Once they are unlocked, you see whats inside and the game closes.
Anyone else entering the contest?

Oh, forgot to mention that I made the soundfxs myself in Aucacity. The wind is me blowing, the light clicks are me snapping my fingers. And the locks opening sound is a fork scratching a bowl I was eating out of at the time. It was fun.

For your first time this isnt too bad!

For a title screen all you gotta do is make a new map set as the first map and add an object as a button, with mouse click set to go to next map.

hmm, I logged into my account and saw that my file had been deleted. Not sure how or why it happened. not like anyone noticed. I re-uploaded it to rapidshare.
What I understand is you get participation points for reviewing entries spanning the 4 weeks of the contest.

Or is there a silent protest to the contest no one told me about? :boo:
