Console hacking

I'm curious as to what you think of console hacking/modding. Anything from slapping CFW on your PSP to jail-breaking your iPod Touch. What are your opinions and views on these kinds of things?

I myself love console hacking. I jailbroke my iPod Touch about 2 months ago, and it made my iPod Touch worth buying. Full customization, the works; it's great. Last night, I put CFW on my PSP so I could play homebrew games. Modifying or hacking your console's hardware/software can make it so much better, as long as you know what you're doing.

I never understood what "getting your Playstation chipped" meant back in PSX days, any idea?

Sounds to me like modchips. Modchips are usually used to play "backup" (coughpiratedcough) games.

Mine played copied games anyway :wink: unless my PSX was chipped without realising. It was 2nd hand.

Just the copied games were black and white :x was cool tho, playing cool boarders 4 and Driver 1 in B&W
