After downloading and installing the lightweight application, Connectify utilizes your computers' built in Wi-Fi card to wirelessly share any available Internet connection: a cable modem, a cellular card, or even another Wi-Fi network. Other Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, smart phones, music players, and gaming systems can see and join your Connectify hotspot just like any other Wi-Fi access point and are kept safe and secure by password-protected WPA2 Encryption.
so, i for one found out about this yesterday, and thought it was very fucking convenient
to be honest, my first thought was: yeah but doesnt windows 7 do this already through ad-hoc?
well, they say so too, but they sum up every issue with the ad-hoc function of windows 7, such as limited connectivity and other things
which, coincidentally, i've experienced as well. There were only two times out of the ten times i've tried that that function worked so..
god blessed us with this
protip: watch the youtube stuff they present there, it's pretty funny
