Computer Question

I planned to buy myself a new PC during Christmas time. My old laptop that I am currently using to design my RMXP project is too slow and is pretty much broken. Before I plan to buy a new PC laptop, I wanted some advice on which computers to buy. I read that some computers like Vista are not compatible with RMXP. What computer should I buy that is relatively new and can run well with RMXP?

Awesome Bro

Besides, the new computers have Windows 7 as of now if I'm not mistaken, which has fixed most of, if not all of the compatibility issues, so you should be fine...

Also which country are you from so we know what sites to look on, and how much would you be willing to spend ?

No, most systems are still coming with Vista, with the option to upgrade later to 7, which is retarded, but whatever.

Most any new system you order from places like Dell nowadays will run RMVX and XP just fine, so you really have nothing to worry about. Just get what sounds good to you for your new PC.

OS Compatibility isn't an issue:

I'd really recommend getting a system that comes with windows 7 pre-installed.

A minimum of 2GB RAM (most laptops come with 3, 4 or even 6 or 8 these days)

Some say it's also worth getting 64-bit Windows 7 (no big difference from 32-bit but it'll future proof you if you want to ever upgrade to future versions of Windows 64-bit easily and if you want Windows to see more than 3.5 - 4GB of RAM).

Any modern laptop that comes with Windows 7 will have a powerful enough graphics card to see you through.

Laptop speakers are also improving, though it may be worth buying a separate set for when you're are home watching movies or playing games.

Hope this helps :)

Actually, the reason you don't see a big difference between 64 bit and 32 bit windows is because you're still running 32-bit software. Buy something made with 64-bit programming, and it'll be lightning fast compared to 32-bit software, provided you have more than 2 or 3 GB or RAM.
