Computer crashes because of own music!

I really have a major problem. Playing my own music works fine ingame... But if i try to play my music with higher or lower pitch in the sound test. My PC crashes and starts up again.... How can i fix this? I really don`t know what to do!
Please help

What kind of music? MP3 or Midi?

Do you have a "DirectSound compatible sound card"?

yeah, it must be your hardware that's causing the problem....
because the synthesis of higher pitch can be too much for it... im not sure...

If it's MP3, and the sample rate is too high it can cause problems. Try reducing the sample rate (bit rate) to 128 kb/s.
