Composer wanting feedback

Well hey there,

I’m Keith.

The music is for an RPG influenced by a combination of hip hop (the good kind) and electronic music with orchestral techniques tied into the mix(think Persona 3 minus the Jpop).

http://www.sendspace.com/file/dynqa6 is the link where you can download a 5 song sampler of what we’ve been working on. Keep in mind these songs are all demos and the mixes are not finished.

I will take a look at these songs once I get the chance. I would suggest that you upload them to box.net where they can be listened to more quickly. Sometimes when you have to download them, it turns people away.

i don't care if it is a download, this stuff is cool.

you do well, my friend. i'm loving this, and i'd play pretty much anything with this as a soundtrack, there's so much style and it's just so well put together.

i wasn't feeling the piano pieces (tho they were nice - i just wanted to hear more beats tbh), but the actual beats were awesome. i mean, you even had scratching. i've never heard scratching in an rpg. i'd be interested to see what your project is like after hearing these.

These are nice clips. The piano was especially nice. Did you play or sequence that? As far as the beats go, they all sounded cool. They're interesting and original and would sound super cool in a video game. On the production side though, I think you need to mess with your levels a little. A few of them lacked the punch that a lot of hiphop songs have. Try using some light distortion and compression. Nice work!

listening now, so far im really liking it, but, i like electronic stuff so. your breaks are clean, songs (clips) are well written, altho some of the instruments you used, like in the second section the kinda techno stabby noise i dont care for, but thats a personal taste thing, the piano in part 3 is great, its fucking tragic. lot of emotion driving a very simple slow melody. its like tragedy with undertones of hope that build up through the song slowly, then tapers off to a ho hum boo hoo finish. then after piano, reminds me of champloo a lot, which is good, i loved the music on samurai champloo. hmm last little bit at the end, has a good hectic sound while flowing still. well done sir

thanks a ton for the feedback guys- glad you're enjoying it. i just recently heard of champloo and must say we both have the 90's hip hop influence. ive got plenty a new tracks done i may upload soon.
