Common Event Weather System

Hopefully this is the right place to post something like this : )

Filefront Download

A few people complained about filefront being weird, so:

Rapidshare Download

It features 7 different climate types, from Barren desert to Arctic, each with its own unique behaviors. A consequence of the system is that the current weather type (none, rainy, stormy, snowy) and weather force (1-9) are always stored in variables so you can get their data at any time and use it any way you can think of, from having NPCs and monsters react to the weather to making spells that affect or are dependent on the weather. It's pretty easy to set up and use, just requires you to add it to your common events and create an event on each map that sets the climate type and calls the weather system.

It's built in a common event rather than a ruby script for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being that I'm using a Tablet PC and its much easier to use buttons and menus than write symbols and use proper formatting. Hope its useful to some of you anyway :)

Pretty cool, I didn't get a lot of time to test it though, can it change over time? From what I could tell it will only change the weather every time you call the common event.

Umm, I think it's somekinda virus or something... When I started the download, the file's name was SisterDisc326(some numbers blabla) so I aborted it.

can't download always says:

Download Error

This download has already been completed. It cannot be downloaded again without re-visiting FileFront. If you need help starting your download, please contact FileFront support.

the fact is that i never download the file it's the firt time... try megaupload or rapid share, it's more reliable

I'll throw it on rapid share a little later then. It can change over time if you run the init event in a parallel process and have it re-call the event occasionally but otherwise no it does not loop. Reason being I use big maps with lots of things going on and even with performance tweak scripts it tends to bog down. You could easily paste the whole thing into a loop with a healthy wait time between cycles too I suppose, but I figure a player will change maps often enough to keep it going.
