The world was at peace, there was no fighting, bickering, or malice; A perfect world for people to live. I should have known it wouldn't last forever, it was foolish of me to believe that.


Story
The world is peaceful until the crystal is shattered. Someone breaks the Crystal of Order and spreads the pieces across the world, each part guarded by an evil guardian. Now that the crystal is broken, chaos fills the earth; nothing is at peace. Someone needs to fix the world before it becomes fully corrupt...someone.




Characters

Erik
Class: Player Decided; Read below.
Age: 17
Looks: Lengthy brown hair, average sized.
Role:
The main protagonist of the story along side with Ami. He is the one that needs to rebuild the Crystal of Order. His class and name are customizable.

Ami
Class: Player Decided; Read below.
Age: 16
Looks: Pink hair, wears a brown hat, short.
Role:
Assists the main protagonist, Erik, in his journey. She helps Erik gather the crystal pieces to repair the Crystal of Order.



Specialties & Classes


Strength
This specialty focuses strictly on power. Players who choose this as their specialty will start as warriors. Warriors can upgrade into Gladiators and Berserkers at level 20.

Survival
This specialty focuses strictly on defense. Players who choose this as their specialty will start as soldiers. Soldiers can upgrade into Knights and Paladins at level 20.

Archery
This specialty focuses on far-away attacks and accuracy. Players who choose this as their specialty start as foresters. Foresters can upgrade into Hunters and Archers at level 20.

Crafts
This specialty focuses strictly on crafting items to assist them in battle. Players who choose this as their specialty start as crafters. Crafters can upgrade into Alchemists and Blacksmithes at level 20.

Special
These classes are obtainable through doing special events in the game. The two special classes so far are Ninjas and Pirates.

Notice:
I am still in very early development, and I hope that some of you will become interested in my project. I almost posted this in the casual project section, to be honest, because I have become a bit rusty on my mapping/eventing skills and I am not sure if it's ready. I will update this as often as possible with more information, as I lack much of it. I apologize for this, but I assure you, it will be improved in due time.
 
Well, what are we supposed to comment on? The story?

Actually, I know what. 1) I keep reading "bladder" instead of "blader" and 2), nobody who hasn't played RPGs before will download an RPG maker project, so drop the equipment tutorial along with any other tutorial which explains things seen in millions of other RPGs.

1) That's considered a reading problem...Actually, I changed that. There no longer bladers, which I agree, is a stupid name.
2) Just a way of letting you know you have a sword to equip! Ha, it's like 10 seconds long, it's good.

Haha, there actually sewer rats :P!!


Also, I'm updating the thread with more screenshots and stuff. ^^!
 
The only thing I notice is that the enemy battlers are backwards.
It bugs me.
Looks: Grey haired though young, wears a robe.
What's that supposed to mean? o.0 You can just say gray haired. Having gray hair doesn't make you old.

Since you have no story, and no depth in your characters, (but oddly have maps already) there isn't much to judge this game on...

I got new sprites, this has been fixed :)

True, I changed the sprites again, so it's irrelevant :P;

Since you have no story, and no depth in your characters, (but oddly have maps already) there isn't much to judge this game on...

The characters are pretty much fully customizable except for their sprites... and yes, I need to get a story going ://

The game looks appealing to me even with the lack of story, probably because I have a thing for the VX graphics - I like the feel on them :) Even though you have no story going, it still looks good - Not amazing, but cute and enjoyable.

Only thing I can say is that both your characters are blue-ish, so hopefully you get some more colour contrast in the party xP Looking forward to seeing a story soon ^_^

Also, about the characters, they've been changed so I will post new screenshots later today. Unfortunately I need to go practice, but Ill post new ones after ^^
 
If you're going for "cliché, but fun" I think you more than anything need charming characters who are easy to like.

Other than that, be cautious when designing the Defense speciality.

Defense characters will somehow need to be able to protect it's allies, not just have good survivability. Soldiers having a lot of HP and Toughness will do nothing when enemies decides to gank the mage instead. Remember that characters with the Strength speciality can protect others, they can kill enemies to prevent them from attacking. A character who simple has great durability will do a worse job of protecting others than offensive characters.

What will Ranged be good at compared to Strength? Accuracy seems to be one, but most games make accuracy and evasion more of an afterthought rather than a main feature of offense and defense.

You mean like buffs for the team?

What will Ranged be good at compared to Strength? Accuracy seems to be one, but most games make accuracy and evasion more of an afterthought rather than a main feature of offense and defense.

Ranged classes are also faster, though weaker. Their defense is not the weakest, but not the strongest either; and yes, they are more accurate.

*So, if you haven't noticed, the Magic specialty has become the "Crafts" specialty, you might wanna check that out.
