character WIP's

I like them a lot! It will definitely be a great addition to the project.

Now, as for the criticism ... The two sprites that bother me are the 3rd in the first row and the 4th in the second row.

I'm really not sure what that brown thing that character 3 is wearing is supposed to be. Is it some kind of a vest? It falls a little awkwardly, so it's hard to judge. Is there maybe a way to make it fall a little more naturally?

And the last character ... I'm really not a fan of the color combination. The green and the blue don't mesh too well in their current positions. Maybe it would look better if the gloves/boots were green and the dress were blue - or maybe if you just got rid of the gloves. I can't pinpoint exactly what bothers me, but it just doesn't look right.

In any case ... Awesome job! My favorites are the red-haired girl and the puppet/puppetmaster duo. They're just very unique :)

don't you like the but on the front side, I thought it was quite original. the brown thing is just ornamental decoration like everything is in character designs LOL'D. I thought the blue and the green matched quite well actually, but I'll see what I can do.

Your designs are looking good, but you have an awful lot of pillow shading going on. Let me just create a number scheme for these guys:
1234
5678

In sprite 1, his stomach plating is pillow shaded, but as he is metal-plated it mostly works out fine.
In sprites 2,3,4,5,7, and 8, the cloth needs some folds. It can't just be pillow shaded, or they look at best like the character is wearing a skin tight body suit. In 8, it makes her dress look like plastic.

The hair in 4 looks very wacky. What is going on with that bit sticking out? The shape and shading do mot make it clear.

Sprites 5 and 6 are some of the more pillow-shaded sprites I have ever seen. They need a lot more work into texturing and defining the shape of their parts, and the materials. If nothing else it will give them some visual interest. It will also define what they are made out of, which is very unclear at the moment.

Sprite 7's hair is, again, very very pillow shaded. It has absolutely no character, it is just a blob of red. There are no strands or shapes in it.

You're off to a great start but these need more detail and work to be particularly high quality. As it is these would be acceptable though. Well, except that they are only 1 frame ;)

I know they are pillow shaded XD that's why they are WORK IN PROGRESS =]
I wipped these up in a couple of sec. just because I had an idea. I wanted to know if the designs are exeptable, that is all, sorry for not being clear, and thanks for the comments any way.

:p you don't need to get uppity about it. You posted a work-in-progess in analysis and I analysed it.

Anyway, yes, the designs are good, although the puppetmaster/puppet seems a little out-there for an RTP, at least at the stage we are at. I would focus on the other 6 first :)

@ Erk: I didn't get ''uppity'' <huh> about it, I just said I knew 'bout the shading. I will continue on the first six as you pointed out, and thanks for analysing it.
