Character Sprites/Faces/Monsters - RMVX

Alright, so I'm all set and ready to begin my game in VX! I've had some experience with XP, but I wanted to try something different and a new game maker. Now, before I actually begin making... I would like to know where I could possibly grab some more graphics for the game.

Character Sprites and the Faces for text aren't the worst of my problems. I'm more concerned with new monsters and such. I looked in the database, and there really wasn't too much to choose from and I don't want to end up running out of monsters/bosses so early in the game.

Also, I think I may want to have a side-battle system instead of the traditional way.
And lastly, are there more tilesets? I looked through really quick, and I didn't see anything for the outsides of houses to make towns and such. Maybe I didn't look deep enough, but even the tilesets that were provided... didn't seem like a whole lot.

Thanks for reviewing my post!

Ya'know Autotiles in XP? The tiles are like that in VX, well a lot of them are. There's like 10+ outdoor house/buildings, just try experimenting with all the tiles. And with the bosses, you could use some humans too, most games have like 3-6 playable characters, so there's a lot of variety, and characters left over.

Alright, I took a look at it again and I figure out how to work the tiles fully. Just a different view from XP.

I just wanted to know if there was a bit more variety anywhere, so that I could possibly refine my characters/enemies/monsters a bit more.

What about monster graphics? Like, not the sprites, but the actual creature/monster in the battle screen? There are only 30 to choose from, and it looks like most of them are larger monsters, and not as many beginner/weaker ones.

Also, what about a side battle view? How does one do this, and is it easy?

Sideview battle systems would have to be scripted. There's already a whole bunch of 'em out there, so you shouldn't have problems finding them... personally, I think every game needs it's own battlesystem, though... if you want to learn scripting, calculate about half year at least until you can make your own non-default-y battle system.

For graphics, monster sprites are the easiest to gather, since you can simply use every artwork you find on the net - you only need one graphic after all! The only thing you have to consider is that your monster sprites look equal to each other.
Consider your sideview wishes though: Sideview battle systems often use animated sprites that are just slightly bigger than the map sprites, or are the same as the map sprites really. Depending on what battle system you want to use, you have to choose your enemy sprites, therefore it's useless to go look for them if you don't know what battle system you want to use yet.
