character question (sorta)

Forgive me if I did not title this question correctly but let me try and explain my problem.  I created a bridge as a character for name sake lets call it (example1) and now I want my hero to walk across the bridge (charactor1) however, once my hero steps to the bridge, I can not move her across it.  Is there away to do this?  I have tried setting through on the bridge character but still not working.  Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I am sure I am missing something.  The old brain doesn't work so well these days so thanks in advance. ;D

1st question for you... and an important one actually...
are you using switches? if not, there's a way to handle this...

2nd question...
if it fails, don't delete anything, just copy the bridge-like tiles at the bottom of the tileset you're using and let the events (switches included) replace those tiles, the original ones and the clones.

So...the bridge is a characterset and your using events?

Well just set it to "Through".  That should be all you need to do...

I am not using switches and I have not copied the character graphics to the bottom of the tileset but I will try it.

Thanks I have tried setting the character (bridge) to through with no success still can't pass.  I set an event to set the character (my hero) to through then he wonders eveywhere...

It's because no matter how big the event is, it's only still one square you can walk over. Put it on normal grass and dun make it through, you can walk through the whole damn bridge except for the square you put the event on.

So I would just make the brige using the tileset as event graphics. That would be the easiest way imho.

What you could do is, before the played hits the bridge make him always on top. Then make sure you cover the edges with blank events so he can't walk past them. That should work.
