Changing width/height for images?

Is there a way to change the width and height for images? Like, I want to slowly reveal an image by increasing the height, so that it kind of "rolls" into screen. I don't mean the x and y, nor zoom_x and zoom_y. I mean having the image be there, static, but cutting off a piece by changing the width/height. As if you're changing the canvas of the image in a paint program.
