Changing grid size?

Okay, I don't know if this goes in script questions or not, but I was wondering if there was a script or some other way of changing the default size of the grid for maps. At default, they're 32x32? I think that's it. Anyway, I want to know if there's a way to shrink or expand those, like for example, if I wanted to use a pokemon tileset, which run smaller than 32x32 grids, or if I wanted to use a larger tileset for half-kaizers. That sort of thing.

If there is not, could somebody suggest an alternative for me. I just don't want to make a large tileset, but then cause my characters to run across the map very slowly because they're still running on a 32x32 size grid.

Thanks in advance!

I can't solve your problem with making them bigger, but as for smaller; I am making a Pokemon game and my solution (which worked very well) was to make each pixel actually a 4 pixel block.

You mean each tile? :)

No, each pixel. I get what brian is saying.

@Brain - All that does is make a smaller grid into a bigger one, but it makes the pixels look chunkier than they could be. Really, I want to make my grids bigger so I can make my own tilesets for the half-kaizer set and not make if feel like they're making slow, clumsy steps. My goal is MORE pixel detail, not less.

I believe that you might be able to associate a 32x32 tile to another one to be called via RGSS. However, without access to the hidden classes for RGSS, this would be quite hard.
