Changing Angle of the Game

Now, I have never seen a game that uses this yet, but I'm curious to know if there IS anything out there.

I know it's possible to have angled maps, but what I want to know is, is it possible to change the angle of movement, so that when a player hits a button, they do not move straight, but rather, changed on a 45 degree angle.

It might be hard to understand, so take a look at this screenshot for an example:

Basically, I want to know if I can use a script or whatever so that the game registers that an arrow is hit, they don't move in typical angles. For example, using this screenshot, hitting "UP" would move the character towards the wall with the windows and tables.

I know we have 8 directional movement scripts, but I don't quite want that. If anyone knows what I'm talking about and can help, I'd appreciate it.

You'd be looking for an isometric script. I know Gubid created one, and it should be fairly easy to find off of a forum search. Note, however, that resources and compatible scripts are far more difficult to find for this, so it's going to be a bit more than something you can simply copy and paste in a few minutes as a "feature".

ISOMETRIC! That's what it was called (boy do I feel dumb).

Had to go on a hunt for the demo, since it wasn't in that thread, but I got it.

Thanks Velocir.

EDIT: Totally didn't see your post Krop.

I have no intentions of attempting a plug and play feature with this. I have every intention of building everything around the system (fully custom tilesets, etc). It's for a secret project of mine. I'll release the info when I have enough to do so. I'm hoping to really wow people with what I have planned.
