Ok, after seeing the gRTP competition started and seeing the lineart versions of the HalfKaizer (provided by both SK and Tana), I felt in the mood to sprite, something which I haven't done for around a year.
The last time I sprited something it was part of a mini project I wanted to do, Final Fantasy VII characters as Half Kaizers. I've always found it easier to sprite for the HKs (my first ever sprite was Aeris for the Full Kaizer, which wasn't finished), but I have to admit, the gRTP style is kinda hard. The cel-shading is a bit limited, making it hard to proporly show shadows, but I guess it's something I must adapt to in order to get better at this. ':|
I wanted to break my mold of spriting Final Fantasy VII characters and decided to try spriting a character from another game close to my heart, Star Ocean: The Second Story (also known as the anime/manga Star Ocean EX).
The character in question? Celine Jules, due to the only linearted HK being the normal female:

~Celine Jules - Black Mage~
I was originally going to sprite her anime version (less kinky dress and longer, purple hair), but I found the hair too hard to sprite (she has these big, spiky bangs). Also, It kinda felt more appropriate to sprite an RPG sprite of the RPG version. ^^"
And yes, it's just one sprite so far. I did it on impulse, and i'm not entirely sure if I will do a whole spritesheet, but I at least want to see if my spriting skill has wavered since my last attempt.
I specifically remember Tana lecturing me over my Yuffie Kiseragi, specifically the hair, so i've taken special care in making the hair the right shape, colour and with decent shading (of course, I did this with the whole thing, but the hair got special care ^^").
I hope you guys like the sprite! Comments and Critisism welcome!
Oh, and ya, I gave her new eyes. And a nose. :thumb: The boots were the hardest thing to do, and i'm not totally satisfied with her 'cape' thingie.
