I was just browsing around some forums and someone had this as their signature.
Now despite the fact that its warcrack, how can you turn an image in photoshop to look like this? I really like this effect, can anyone give me a simple run-down?
This effect goes on like this: get a render (which in this signature, the mecha guy) ---> get a C4D (the lightinings) and some smudges as well as a simple background.
You can't really get the exact effect, unless you find the exact resources.
I've done something like what has been done in that signature and what i can say for the lightning things use like 5 layers or however many layers you want to use then change the opacity of that layer to where it seems like it's far away or something like that. thats how I do my sigs in photoshop and they look sorta like the sig with the mecha looking dude.
Hope this helped alittle
it could have been done by very creatively using smudge and paintbrush tools on a screencap of the character but to get that painted effect you're not going to be able to do it with a few clicks of your mouse in the effects browser.
Hm... I don't think it is, but ok thanks for the tips! I'll start trying some stuff out thanks for the tips though. If anyone else has any more input let me know =)
I agree with ven. It looks like some one grabbed a large version of that image and painstakingly went over it to give it that sketchy effect, essentially painting the image. It's not something that can be easily done or in a short amount of time.
