Calibre's Photoshop Stop

I was in a photoshopper mood today, then I realised why the hell do I never save my work (and if I do where's it go?)  So from now I think I'll dump it in here...

1) This I made today and I have absolutely no clue why... I just did.  It's meant to be the Kraken or something out at sea, and it's caused some bloody damage to the right hand side.  It's made 100% using photoshop tools, no pre-existing images or anything like that.  So that means prints are legal to sell for me and cost $7000 a pop, ok?

2) This I originally intended as a panorama for resource analysis but I like it as an image too.  I used vector graphics for the trees that weren't made by me so it's not really skilled but it looks nice enough.  Actually I think I did... I think I painted some too though.  Prints for this cost only $3500 because I can't be sure of copyrights.

3) I made this for some  guy at gamingw who was having a paid competition to make his world map.  I think he had about 12 entries and liked mine and one other guys who was doing it in chalk.  It's meant to be very vivid - Tales of... like.  Seeingas this is supposed to be exclusive for him I'll do prints for merely $500 so long as you keep schtum.

He was breaking it up into sections like Mario used to be I think... so I had to do it so it could be shown close up...

4) This guy is for some vector based drawing I was trying and I'd never tried inking anything before so it was my first time.  I was sort of going for a cel-shaded look. If anyone knows a quick method of evening his outline so it's smooth please let me know.  This is a one off so costs $10,000, however I will give you the exclusive rights.

...Getting tired searching for them now... So I'll let you in on a little offer, I'll sell you this whole batch for a combined price of only $15,000.  This offer is for a limited time only and doesn't include most pieces.

Yeah so the main reason I'm putting this here is to encourage myself to do more and get better.  I'd like C and C of course though I know a lot of it is shit.

Bye.

Thanks, I decided to take my older stuff off here because it's pretty embarrassing. :P

I'm okay for ideas at the moment.  I usually think of something when I'm playing around with it.

Pretty impressive, I love the world map, the intended panorama image is sweet!  Got any tutorials I could use for either the world map or a panorama? I just got Photoshop CS3 and I really haven't messed with Photoshop since I had CS2 and that was almost a year ago.  I am very rusty, anything would help though.

Umm well that map took ages and it used quite a few techniques but I didn't use any tutorial myself.  It could still be quite a bit better but I got fed up with it.  It's basically a case of getting the shape into photoshop and then painting layers upon layers of textures over the shape.

I think the best thing to do if you really want to know how to use it if study every function the program offers and complete a tutorial of what it does.  It takes a long time, I've barely scrapped the surface but each new trick you learn gives you more possibilities.

I think I still suffer from making my images too sharp and losing detail.  It's sometimes difficult to know when you are precisely done.

When i used Adobe Illustrator CS2, there was a "Smooth" tool, along with the pen tool. It allowed you to bend the lines and make them smoother. Looked like a blending stick if I remember correctly.

I honestly don't see how you can sell your art for so much money, unless you're being absolutely sarcastic, because I know I wouldn't buy them for even half of what your asking. I will say they are very nice, but I don't even remember my graphic arts teacher saying her huge ink jet printer in the back about the size of my desk's ink costs a whole lot, let alone the paper.

You've got skill and lots of it, but so do many others who are on this website, and I doubt they would sell prints for that skyhigh price. Well good luck, if I'm misunderstanding something, lemme know cause as far as I can tell from what you've said that is the way it is interpreted by me.

Ok man, how about 1/10th of the price?  :P

Yeah I was just messing, none of them are even saved at a big enough resolution for a canvas print because my PC is too shitty to work on anything over 2000 pixels.

Cheers for the tip I'll check it out.

I also realised I had a shitty version of the overall world map up so I put a softened one up instead now.

Lol, Not a problem for the tip. Trust me, it's a life saver... man when I had to do my kirby collage, it took me about an hour or so to do one, if I had left them as they were, they'd look very edgy and rugged.

I like the softened one much better.

I have yet to get Photoshop CS3, they may have put the smooth tool in it, so who knows :P

$15,000 are you crazy!?!?!?!?!

No, I know it's a ridiculously good offer but this is my older work anyway (and we're all friends here at .org).  Don't worry, I won't be so kind with my new work / new pricing regime.

^_^ lol  ^_^

I guess I cant leave it with that first sentence... there is a lovley huge post on the homepage that tells me that people who do that get banned :P

Anyways, they are good ^_^  I like the effects in all of them, and can only wonder how you did that world map... (is there anything that you can say to enlighten me?  ^_^)

I enjoy looking at other peoples photoshop work.  generally everything except the stupid smiley face made in 2 seconds, but yeah ^_^  I love seeing others techniques and how they/you do things, it helps me broaden my horizon ^_^  anyways, i will pay 1,500 yen for that, but not a cent more ^_^

You mean, like $12.75 in US dollars?

I have to say, you have some interesting effects, but you should look up your anatomy. Even Vector follows more of a human shape than your guy.

Sorry to sound ignorant (and lazy, since Wikipedia and Google are at my fingertips), but what exactly are vector graphics?

From what I remember, vector stuf' ar' those graphics that are made by mathematics and equations, while the normal computer things are made by pixels.
Somethin' like that.
