Awesome Bro

Hmm, not bad... but I don't like how the car moves, it's as if there's too much friction between the car and the floor when accelerating or reversing, and it turns WAY too quick, you should work on tweaking the movement of it, since it can make it pretty tricky sometimes...

Good luck!

I love the idea because it reminds me of this: http://www.youparklikeanasshole.com

If you have more spare time left for this project, it would be funny to add some random passing by people to yell funny things at you if you don't get the car in the right spot in time.
Or the original website: http://www.parkinglessons.com
My dad was on the radio and everything for that website when he first came out with it, lol. I so agree with the people passing by and making rude comments. :)

Lol, that was a good idea. For now i had a priority to:

- Add more levels.
- Enhance the graphics and add more car models.
- Add stars to pick, like 3 stars to pick before to parking slot.
- Levels menu.
- Crash effect when car crash something.
- Sounds.

Another idea just came to me as well but I'm not sure if it's possible (I don't drive yet... *gets thrown out the door*)

Have multiple parking spots to choose from, but each with a twist. For example, the closest parking spot may have an irresponsible car parked slightly over, and the furtherest spot may be easy, but well, further.

@rosareven. hehe ok, i will keep the idea.

Today i've added the sounds :D finally. please kindly test it out and give some feedback. thank you

I liked the game, but the handling is forced through, I understand that perhaps it is to smooth the gameplay, but it was kind of weird :(]

it's still a good game, worth having only 3 stages :)

Yeah, the car will stop as soon you press up the accelerate key, because it will be more strange if i leave it to the default speed, it will become like stop on the iced floor.

This was unexpectedly fun! You would never really think of parking as fun, haha.

I agree with gillenew that the way that the car handles feels kind of off. When people drive at low speeds, they don't keep their foot on the accelerator, they let the car drift, and use the brakes.

Perhaps allow the car to continue moving forward when not accelerating, but make the event check that if the car is still moving forward, pushing [down] will brake the car, instead of putting it in reverse.

But if the [down] key is pressed and the car is no longer moving forward, it goes backwards. (In IRL cars, you have to fully stop and manually put the car in reverse, anyway!)

Also the footprint for where you should park the car feels really unforgiving. In level 1-2, I could SWEAR that I had the car within the green footprint, but it kept saying I was failing the mission.

You may want to add scores and widen the footprint with different colors.
So like "A+" for parking PERFECTLY inside the green area, "B" for having some of your car in a yellow zone (just outside of green), or "C" for partially being in a blue zone (outside of yellow zone).
And then the number of times you bash your car against things will knock your grade down 1 or 0.5 letters, and you can only move on to the next level if you get a D or better.

That way, the player doesn't have to be PERFECT but they will have an incentive to re-play to try for a better score.

You see what I mean?

P.S. I love the sound effects, very cute :cute:

@Venetian. Thank for your feedback, i appreciate it.

Yes you are right, i'm still tweaking for the best control. For now this is the most easy to play style control, but i will still do some more research on it.
Also for the footprint, i will fix it soon, because that really need a lot of trial and error to make the precision perfect.

I definately like what you did there... the game is nice, fluent and self-explanatory, while the car behaves a bit too stury imo. This might go a bit too overboard this close to the end of the contest, bit a gearbox thing that switches between accelerations and max speed feels like a good idea - that way, you can approach fast and steer precise, depending on the situation.
The parallel parking idea of So Fist is great btw, I think. A bit of variety definately won't hurt. I could also imagine something like one-way streets on the way to the parking lot, or other moving cars (however, again, might be too close to the end of the contest to incorporate that).

A general hint to get you to the 4 point stability (or at least I think it's a bug): You don't lose a life if you run out of time in a level.

Good luck with this!

This is a very cool original game. I like the art.

And I find it nearly impossible to play. But that's good. It reminds me of L.A.Noire where you have to drive your car around LA with a Sony joystick. Really hard. But fun at the same time. Definitely a contender and full of creativity.

Cool game handi :D Wow, I really suck at parking but I do in real life to. lol Anyway, this is a really fun game I also like your graphics. I think I had more fun crashing the car than I did parking it. lol

Good job, and good luck with the contest :)

Couple of suggestions:
1. Flip left/right directionals when going in reverse.
2. Show a zoomed out version of the entire mission before you start so you can see where you are actually going.

I find it funny, so nice small game. There is kind of mess collision, it can be fixed when you set time or some variable to make itself invulnerable for some seconds before it gets crash again
